Sandy and Kyle

Jubilee Estate

“Our design inspiration was romantic boho. We were drawn to the natural beauty of Jubilee Estate, with its lush greenery and serene waterfront setting. We embraced the garden atmosphere and created a fun, casual feel that complemented the surroundings. I started with neutrals and pinks but kept being drawn to fun patterned linens. Once I found the perfect one that checked all my design boxes, our planner created an unexpected blend of colors and textures that brought the romantic boho vision to life.” -The Bride

Sandy and Kyle’s romantic boho Bradenton wedding was filled with lush blooms, whimsical textures, and unexpected color pairings that beautifully reflected their fun-loving personalities and effortlessly brought their vision to life.

“Our design inspiration was romantic boho. We were drawn to the natural beauty of Jubilee Estate, with its lush greenery and serene waterfront setting. It’s on the water but not on the beach, so we wanted to avoid a tropical vibe. Instead, we embraced the garden atmosphere and created a fun, casual feel that complemented the surroundings,” the bride shared. “I started with neutrals and pinks but kept being drawn to fun patterned linens. Once I found the perfect one that checked all my design boxes, our planner created an unexpected blend of colors and textures that brought the romantic boho vision to life.”

The couple made their March wedding uniquely their own with thoughtful, personality-filled details and a strong focus on creating a fun, unforgettable experience for their 110 guests. Wanting to keep their loved ones close and the celebration easy for everyone, the bride and groom opted to wed in their hometown of Bradenton.

“We initially envisioned a destination wedding, but due to the challenges of travel for some of our family and wanting to make it easier for our friends who live nearby, we chose to keep it local. We wanted to celebrate our love with the people closest to us and then have a big party,” the bride gushed. “Upon arrival, guests were asked to choose a drink, not a side. Kyle’s favorite was Busch Lite, and mine was Prosecco. For dinner, we kept it casual with a buffet. We both have Southern roots, so our menu featured Southern favorites like shrimp and grits, collard greens, and cornbread. We also love to fish; it’s one of our favorite things to do together, so we added little nods to that throughout, like our cocktail napkins and cups that said ‘We’re hooked’ and ‘Catch of a Lifetime,’ and even our seating chart. For dinner music, we went non-traditional and played country, which is what we love. Then we turned it up for the party with an amazing live band playing all the alt-rock jams from our college days.”

Incorporating loved ones into the day was a top priority, from their officiant to musical performances by family and friends.

“Our officiant was my dance teacher from age two to sixteen, who just so happened to be Kyle’s best friend’s mom. She has known both of us our whole lives. She got ordained and went to great lengths to make the ceremony personal and reflective of us,” the bride beamed. “We had my brother-in-law perform our processional music. A good friend’s daughter, who is ten, is a blooming singer, and she performed during cocktail hour with her stepdad, Trevor Bystrom. Picking our reception band was what we spent the most time on because we wanted to ensure it would be a dance party you would not forget. We saw probably ten bands live and listened to countless more before we picked our band, and we could not be happier with their performance. They ended the sets with a trashcan drum performance, which was very surprising for our guests and really got the crowd excited.”

What truly made their wedding stand out was the way it reflected them, from planting their own flowers to the unexpected and hilarious moments that unfolded.

“What made our wedding so special was the personal touches, the beautiful and unique setting of our venue, and the fun we had. The color palette and local farm-grown flowers gave it a one-of-a-kind design as well,” the bride revealed.

Looking back, Sandy shared that the day was filled with unforgettable moments that reflected both the beauty and spontaneity of their celebration.

“One of the best memories was when we went to the florist’s farm and helped plant our wedding flowers. That was really special, knowing we helped grow what was used on our special day,” the bride recalled. “On the wedding day, my husband didn’t follow the ceremony rules, and he kissed me as soon as I got to the end of the aisle, and instead of saying ‘I do,’ he yelled ‘F*CK YES.’ I couldn’t leave him hanging, so I said the same. When our guests were asked if they would support us and take the vow, they shouted it too, and everyone burst out laughing.”

“Another memorable moment was during dinner, a pop-up rain shower rolled through. We were freaking out a little inside but also laughing as guests either ran for cover, danced in the rain with napkins over their heads, or turned the dance floor into a slip-and-slide. Afterward, everyone helped dry things off and got the night going again,” the bride continued. “Dancing to our favorite songs, screaming the lyrics, and jumping around with our friends was so fun. We even played the drums with the band during their finale. Dancing as our 10-year-old friend sang Elvis’s ‘Fools Fall in Love’ was incredibly touching.”

The Proposal:
At sunrise we were supposedly going fishing. I was not expecting it! (Which I should have because we did not have any bait and he sent me to the store for champagne the day before). We went back to the dock, where our closest friends were waiting to celebrate. My sister had secretly flown in.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
St. Lucia. Somewhere new for both of us with mountains on the beach, the best of both worlds.

Where did you host your bachelorette party?
San Pedro, Belize. I’ve been going there for 10 years and my dad has a house there, although we didn’t stay at it. I wanted to show my friends a good time in a place that’s special to me. A few of us had already been talking about visiting, so this was the perfect reason. Boat, beach, and lots of karaoke.

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
I have good things to say about everyone! Jennifer Matteo Event Planning always made planning fun and helped make my ideas cohesive, with personal touches that felt classy. Her lead planner, Megan, who was on-site that day—crushed it, even with a freak rain shower just as dinner was being seated. Innovative Dining’s food was outstanding. Sam Copland Photography is the sweetest and took amazing photos, going the extra mile with her assistants, drone footage, and Fuji film. Mindful Bloom’s flowers were gorgeous, and she helped my mom figure out how to preserve them for me afterward. Stella Rose Events came through with a last-minute dance floor. But the real overachievers were our family and friends, who jumped in all weekend to help with the little details around the house.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Go with your gut on choices and keep looking until you know. Focus the most on the elements important to you. Choose vendors you enjoy as people and your big day will be more enjoyable when they are around.
