Our Personality
You know that question in every job interview that goes “what are three words your friends would describe you as” and you are supposed to pick the perfect 3? That’s what this feels like, but we promise if you have a discussion with any of our team members, you will get the strong sense of individuality. We pride ourselves on a fun and easy-going personality, while also showcasing our eccentric vibes. Not only do we know each couple is not the same, so no wedding can be the same, we as individual DJs are unique and love that we get to share that with each of our couples.

What Inspired Us to Start Our Business
DJ Cory Barron – Do I write in third person or first… I never know with this sort of thing – has been in the DJ industry since 2007 and 10 years later he was ready to branch out and start his own company, DJ Cory Barron & Co (If you have ever Googled us, you might have stumbled upon an old logo or two… Remember the internet is forever). He wanted to bring a more modern and cutting edge vibe to the Tampa market, and knew he was the guy who could do just that.
A cool tidbit about us is we are really one big group of friends who get to work together. Cory brought on his friends he had made in the DJing industry to join him and those DJs brought on their friends, so on and so forth. It’s a really cool way of experiencing a “small world” but in real life!
In 2020, we decided to rebrand to what you know and love, The Tampa Bay DJ Company and have been going steady since!

Oh yea… The [quite literal] money question…We offer a variety of packages, but because we try to be as individualistic as we can be for each and every event, we don’t have a set price we can share with you. What we can tell you is that you should plan to budget anywhere from $1500 – $2400 for an associate DJ, and around $4,000 – $5,000 for DJ Cory Barron, himself.

About Our Office Manager Miriam:
I’m a mom to a beautiful girlie (actual terminology) and two dogs, a boxer mix and a dachshund mix. I also have a husband who I met while I was attending USF – Go Bulls! When I’m not working you can find me reading, writing, or planning my next apartment craft/project (hello fabric wallpaper)! A fun fact about me: I got two degrees in sociology, so you can say I love learning how people work and putting myself in other peoples shoes! Also, you’ll get to know I love a good “exclamation point”!!
About Our Administrative Coordinator, Dawn:
I am a mom to two children, a son and daughter, and love spending time relaxing out and about. From an occasional Universal Studios trip to our local restaurant hangout, you can find me with my family and friends having a good laugh! Something you won’t know about me? I have actually known Cory for as long as he has been DJing.
About Our Owner/Founder Cory:
I have a wonderful wife and 3 golden retrievers at home. You might catch me playing golf with other wedding pros, cracking a joke to get everyone to smile, or building another DJ booth for our collection (that’s right… I design and build most of them). I love being part of my community and often times am lending a hand to whoever needs it! Did I mention I am growing my tattoo repertoire?
Non-wedding Passions:
I’m (Cory) all about traveling and finding my next adventure. Miriam is all about finding the perfect cup of coffee, and Dawn loves a good theme park!
We are all serious family people and serious animal lovers, so please… Ask us about our pets!

Cory Barron was recommended by my planner. I wanted an experienced DJ who could provide cold sparklers and uplighting. Also, I wanted a DJ whose set would fit the aesthetic. He had a white DJ booth and was on the list with Hotel Haya to provide cold sparklers. After seeing him set up in the ballroom of Hotel Haya at Tie the Knot Ybor, I was sold. Cory was professional, helpful, and confident in his skills, which, as a bride, is reassuring. I gave him a list of songs I didn’t want to be played and told him we like to mash/remix songs together, plus, I was a Taylor Swift fan. All my guests were having a good time. I couldn’t even get my grandma off the dance floor!

The music was a top priority for us because that is typically the thing that sets the tone for your guests to get up and party. Our wedding planner highly recommended Tampa Bay DJ Company. [During our call], we went over everything that was important to us, and they took the time to learn our music tastes and what was important to us during our special day. Plus, they used a special mix of our current faves plus old fan favorites, which we all loved. I have never seen so many people up and dancing and having fun!

I wanted a DJ who was going to make me feel like I was out in Miami and could give that endless loop of songs that kept you dancing and hyped to hear the next one coming! I specifically hired Tampa Bay DJ Company after speaking with them on the phone and describing the dance floor vibes I wanted. They seemed to get exactly what I meant when I explained how I really wanted to keep the energy up on the dance floor and spend hours dancing away! My guests really enjoyed the music that the DJ played, and we ended up with some awesome dance floor shots of everyone enjoying themselves!

The elements that were most important to us were the food and entertainment. We knew it was our day and it would be perfect for us, no matter what, but we also wanted our family and friends to have the best time. We all know the best way to do that is to have killer food and upbeat, energetic entertainment! I wanted a DJ with extensive experience and positive reviews. I also wanted to make sure they were experienced in the music genre we enjoy. Guest engagement and quality equipment were also very important.
