Experience and being a good person are the two biggest things we looked for in a wedding planner. Experience, since you don’t know what you don’t know, and having never planned a wedding before, having a planner who had it down was huge and helped reduce stress. Being a good person may sound silly, but you spend a lot of time working with your wedding planner, and they play a big part in your wedding day, so having someone who is truly a kind, caring, good-hearted person makes the experience so much better.

Choosing Coastal Coordinating was a no-brainer for us, since my sister got married and used Katy Martin with Coastal Coordinating as her planner. Katy Martin and her whole team are truly fantastic and fit the bill for what we were looking for. They are extremely experienced and are also wonderful people.

I am a person who is prone to anxiety and who can admittedly get stressed easily. On our wedding day, my mom joked that she didn’t know who I was since I was completely calm and stress-free. I have Katy Martin and her team to thank for that; they took care of every single thing on our wedding day, so we had nothing to worry about and could enjoy every moment of our day. I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for in a wedding planner. Many of my friends didn’t use one, so I didn’t have much guidance. I wanted to do some of the organizing and designing myself, and I didn’t want someone to come in and do everything for me. But I also knew that with the venue requiring many outside vendors, I would need a day-of coordinator.

Never would I have guessed that having a day-of coordinator would give me the level of help I received from Melanie Bauduin of Coastal Coordinating. She was amazing! She started helping me three months out by reading through contracts, organizing meetings, and creating my timeline. She always made me feel like my ideas were possible, even if they needed a little tweaking here and there.

Melanie had everything ready to go and met us for our final walk-through so she knew where everything needed to go. She is the reason my vision came to life, and I could not be more thankful for her!

We wanted a coordinator who could be brought on at the end of the planning process to handle all of the last-minute scheduling and details, so I wanted someone who was reputable and knew exactly what to do when the time came.

Our venue gave us a list of preferred coordinator vendors, but we were specifically recommended Coastal Coordinating because they thought we would work well together. They were correct.

Our 60-day coordinator, Ella Messick, was an absolute dream to work with. She was so personable and professional. She always had ideas if I needed them and offered the best recommendations for a seamless wedding. Even on the day of, she was my ‘go-to’ girl, and I could not have done it without her by my side!

We wanted to have autonomy with selecting our wedding vendors and customizing the unique elements of our wedding day (invitations, overall design, custom napkins, wedding party gifts, etc.)
