Coastal Peach, Pink, and Green Inspo
“The key theme elements that I was going for were tropical, coastal, vibrant, whimsical, and textured. In the Florida market, we see a lot of coastal and tropical weddings, so I wanted to put a fresh spin on that theme by bringing in pastel tones with lots of texture and whimsical elements. I chose hues of bright and soft pinks, peach, lilac, and bright greens.”

Channeling a coastal color palette indicative of white sand, beachy coral, and shell pink, this waterfront South Tampa wedding styled shoot embraced a seaside style including white-washed wood decor, fringed umbrellas, wicker details, and tropical fruit, for a celebrate as bright and sunny as the state of Florida.
“The key theme elements that I was going for were tropical, coastal, vibrant, whimsical, and textured. It’s always a delight to be able to create something unique for a styled shoot opportunity, and I wanted to create something that would inspire clients. In the Florida market, we see a lot of coastal and tropical weddings, so I wanted to put a fresh spin on that theme by bringing in pastel tones with lots of texture and whimsical elements,” Lauren Gertz, Owner and Lead Planner at MDP Events shared. ” I chose hues of bright and soft pinks, peach, lilac, and bright greens. So often we see weddings that are lacking color, simply because clients tend to favor ‘timeless’ or ‘classic’ elements. I really wanted to showcase that classic, luxurious elegance can exist right alongside vibrant tropical colors! When done correctly, a well-curated color palette can further enhance the theme.”
With it’s neutral indoor and outdoor spaces overlooking stunning views of Tampa Bay, The Bay Club at Westshore Yacht Club offers an ideal setting for waterfront celebrations.
“The Bay Club at Westshore Yacht Club brought the classic luxury atmosphere of a yacht club, paired with gorgeous views, and blank slate spaces that allowed for the decor elements to shine,” the planner raved. “The beauty of the venue is that it can take on so many different themes due to it’s versatile nature, but the atmosphere of luxury remains the same!”
The luxury wedding designer delivered a fresh take on traditional neutrals, offering a vibrant yet timeless alternative that exudes both style and sophistication.
“I was inspired by weddings showcasing tropical tones but with more of a whimsical and pastel, yet bright side. I really wanted to have the colors pop, but not in the standard bold tropical tones,” the planner articulated. “The perfect couple for this type of wedding is one who is not afraid of color and appreciates a luxury style, with a fresh, modern whimsy take. They’re also not afraid of being selective with the vendors that they work with, knowing that investing in excellent vendors will mean that their wedding day will be exceptional.”
The plethora of floral arrangements set the tone for the celebration and injected pops of coastal colors throughout the spaces. The creative team at Save The Date Florida incorporated delicate ranunculus and exotic orchids and anthriums, paired with fresh kiwi, melon, dragonfruit and pineberries for a modern, tropical feel.
“When it comes to a floral heavy theme, choosing the right florist is everything. Not every florist specializes in every style, and not every florist has the same skill level. Danielle from Save The Date Florida is an artist! We love to work with her because we know that she can grasp the vision, and execute with excellence!” Lauren gushed.
“Lauren came to me with her vision, and as soon as she said tropical I was all in! We wanted tropical but different! I did a more artistic/organic design with dripping green amaranthus and beautiful peach anthuriums. We incorporated fruits like kiwi, melons, and the cutest and tastiest white strawberries,” Danielle Zechmann, Save the Date Florida added.
A combination of unique furnishings, decor, and paper goods brought the design to fruition, resulting in three distinct event spaces that complemented each other seamlessly.
“If I had to pick a favorite element, I would say the tablescapes. The chairs from Stella Rose, the linens from Over the Top Linen Rentals, the gorgeous tabletop rentals from Oak and Ash, the candles, lamps, fruit and florals from Save the Date Florida, and the menu cards from A&P Designs all came together beautifully. It was everything I had envisioned and more!” the planner beamed. “I also loved the bar and lounge vignette that we set up outside. We wanted to create three different set-ups. The first was for a ceremony with a variety of pedestals and arrangements to show texture and whimsy. The second was for a reception with two different tablescapes along with a gorgeous cake from Faba’s Sweetshop. The third was a lounge vignette and bar area with fun umbrellas and a bud-vase-filled bar back to create a fun guest lounge space.”
Eddy Almaguer Photography and Behind the Vows wedding content creation captured the lux details and tender moments with a clean, modern style that reflected the event’s polished aesthetic.
Thanks to the stellar vendor team, everything came together that day to create the beautiful, cohesive coastal vision. Lauren advises hiring seasoned wedding professionals as the best approach for ensuring a similarly stunning event.
“Just as with a real wedding, working with an amazing vendor team has the ability to make or break the day!” the planner advised. “Each vendor that we worked with really brought their best work to the table and contributed to the overall experience and final product. As a planner, it is such a privilege to get to work with so many talented vendors from various areas of the industry!”

Did this shoot feature any DIY or customized items?
We worked with A&P Designs to create a customized invitation suite and menu cards. Because most of our clients tend to steer away from DIY elements due to the extra work, we love to take any opportunity we can get to showcase the work of amazing vendors who can bring customized and personalized elements to life for our clients!
How were modern trends and classic elements combined in this shoot?
Some of the modern trends that we included were tropical fruit on the tablescape as well as the lamps. I also chose specialty textured linens and a bold napkin for contrast, color and texture. For classic elements, we wanted the “head table” to have an opening covered with florals so guests can still see the couple on their big day! We included both round table and feasting table designs for variety!
