With dazzling gold details, all-white florals, and modern black decor, this 1920s Great Gatsby-inspired wedding shoot featured a feathered white dress, vintage car, checkered dance floor, and oversized marquee letters that channeled the lavish essence of the roaring twenties.
“The theme was Modern Gatsby. The aesthetics of NOVA 535 drove the theme of this shoot. NOVA 535 was the perfect venue to incorporate a big theme and gave it that modern flare, with the dim lighting, exposed brick, and their updated color palette of the ceremony space,” wedding planner Kelci Zicconi of Kelci Leigh Events shared. “Our colors were black, white, and gold. We had some shimmery touches with layering linens and stationery.”
Lush arrangements of pristine white garden roses, ranunculus, and snapdragons took center stage, complemented by metallic gold dried palms and blossoms, introducing an elegant burst of color. These opulent florals graced NOVA 535‘s new gold ceremony arches and harmoniously framed the aisle, mirrored by the venue’s cross-back house chairs.
“Since the theme was Modern Gatsby, we took a lot of inspiration from the over-the-top grand feel of a Gatsby party and combined it with the current trend of bloom-heavy yet whimsical florals. We didn’t include a single stem of greenery in this whole shoot,” Floral Consultant and Designer Shelby Moody with Marigold Flower Co. explained. “Kelci, the amazing planner, wanted to do a fresh take on Gatsby with this black, white, and gold theme. We wanted our flowers to have the lush feel of a Gatsby theme while still being very approachable for a couple. We included Astilbe as a subtle nod to the feather accents of 1920s flappers and gold billy balls for a subtle pop!”
Capturing the day’s most magical moments with a keen eye for detail, McNeile Photography wowed with every frame. Complementing these timeless images, Sabrina Autumn Photography crafted a captivating video narrative, weaving together the event’s most poignant scenes.
Delving deeper into the ornate details, Kate Ryan Event Rentals elevated the ambiance with its textured linens and table decor accented with modern black stationery and acrylic signage by Kulgra. The Artistic Whisk crafted a two-tiered cake named “Daisy” that mirrored a flapper’s dress, with the bottom tier adorned in intricate sugar feathers, paying homage to the iconic character from The Great Gatsby.
“Florals and feathers were the focal points,” the wedding planner detailed. “Textured linens are so fun and really can make a huge difference if you want to go minimal on tabletop decor.”
Michele Renee The Studio teamed up with Truly Forever Bridal to bring Hollywood glam styling to the forefront, perfectly complemented by the iconic Hollywood waves. Whitehurst Jewelry’s timeless pieces elegantly finished the look, encapsulating the essence of luxury.
“I loved the feather dress from Truly Forever Bridal, the ‘Roaring Love’ light up letters, the textured overlay linens from Kate Ryan Event Rentals, and the vintage getaway car really sealed the deal on our grand exit from Classically Ever After,” Kelci beamed.
Adding a dazzling touch to the reception, Alpha-Lit Tampa St.Petersburg showcased a brilliant marquee display. Behind the Vows provided a unique behind-the-scenes perspective through its wedding day content creation, immersing viewers into the heart of the celebration.
“My favorite floral elements were the arch florals! NOVA 535’s arch was so fun to design with and definitely made everything look way cooler. Outside of floral favorites, I absolutely loved the entire reception, and can we just talk about the giant Marquee letters? AMAZING!” the florist beamed.
