Amanda and David’s Clearwater Beach wedding holds a special place in our hearts, because not only we were guests at this wedding, but because the bride is a member of the Marry Me Tampa Bay family!

Amanda was very active in our Bride-to-Be Facebook planning group, which led to us inviting her to a sit on a bride advice panel for wedding professionals. From there she reached out looking for a position in the wedding industry, and we immediately gobbled her up for ourselves!

“As a bride who was planning a wedding in an unfamiliar area, I had no idea where to start. Marry Me Tampa Bay was one of the first places I searched for venues and vendors. Anna has truly put together an amazing resource for brides in Florida. No matter the style or theme of your wedding, you are sure to find inspiration within all of the blog posts and beautiful photos,” Amanda gushed.

The Clearwater Beach bride and groom hosted a formal, black-tie optional beach wedding, inspired by their love for their home state.

“We wanted the focus of the wedding to be a celebration of our love for each other and Florida itself,” the bride explained, “Being native Floridians, we knew that we wanted a beach venue, but not necessarily one where we had to have our feet in the sand. Our venue is also located directly across from David’s parent’s condo, where he proposed on the balcony a year earlier.”

Since the couple hosted a Jewish wedding ceremony, they had to wait until sundown and one star twinkled in the sky. This allowed for nighttime a ceremony, with romantic lighting by Nature Coast Entertainment Services.

“Cafe lighting has always had a romantic and elegant feel while providing soft background lighting,” the bride stated. “I hired Nature Coast Entertainment after reading a blog post on Marry Me Tampa Bay. Michael quickly came up with a game plan and was able to accommodate my last-minute request for lighting the outdoor ceremony area, providing a soft glow with amber uplighting for the chuppah and aisle and creating a GOBO with our wedding logo just days before the big event! Nature Coast is really a guru at all things lighting!”

The bride knew she I wanted to hire a Clearwater Beach wedding videographer and spent a long time researching her options.

“After watching what seemed like an endless amount of repetitive wedding day videos with the cliche’ background music and staged poses, I knew that I didn’t want anything like that,” Amanda said. “Rad Red Creative had an edgy and innovative style that I was drawn to immediately. Having Brittany and Leo at our wedding just made things seem complete. They are such a great couple, and you can see the love and passion that they have for what they do simply by talking to them (plus, you’ll want to be their best friend!). I loved that they used added elements like drone footage to highlight the venue location.”

To complement the bride’s Hayley Paige wedding dress and sparkly Kate Spade for Keds sneakers, Amanda chose a natural wedding hair and makeup look, with a pop of color on her lips.

“For my wedding day look, I didn’t want to look too overdone or not like myself. I wanted to feel beautiful with natural looking waves, rather than fussing with bobby pins for the night,” the bride shared. “My glam squad from Michele Renee The Studio came out in full-force to beautify my family and bridal party. Their team accommodated a large crowd of ladies and managed to keep us all ahead of schedule.”

Looking back, one of Amanda’s most memorable moments was showcasing her glamorous wedding dress to her bridal party.

“It was one of the biggest secrets that I had to keep, and I was so excited to see their faces when I came downstairs,” the bride reminisced.

Why did you choose to have videography and what did you look for in one?
I always knew that I wanted a videographer to capture our big day, but finding the right one was a harder decision than I imagined. After watching what seemed like an endless amount of repetitive wedding day videos with the cliche’ background music and staged poses, I knew that I didn’t want anything like that.

Rad Red Creative had an edgy and innovative style that I was drawn to immediately. From the moment I watched the first video on their website, I got teary-eyed. Having Brittany and Leo at our wedding just made things seem complete. They are such a great couple, and you can see the love and passion that they have for what they do simply by talking to them (plus, you’ll want to be their best friend!). I am so glad we decided on a wedding video and even happier that I had Rad Red create a video that I am going to want to watch over and over again. I loved that they used added elements like drone footage to highlight the venue location. The flow of their videos isn’t the typical wedding style, but it adds a fresh take on a film that you will want to watch multiple times.

What was your hair and makeup inspiration?
For my wedding day look, I didn’t want to look too overdone or not like myself. I chose to wear my hair half up, as updos just aren’t a natural look for me. I wanted to feel beautiful with natural looking waves, rather than fussing with bobby pins for the night. For makeup, I added lashes and chose a bold lip.

The Proposal:
On February 15, David planned a brunch to gather our families together to meet for the first time. After brunch, on a clear blue sky day, he proposed with a gorgeous ring inside a box of heart-shaped William Dean chocolates on the balcony of his parent’s home that looks out to Clearwater Beach, and what was to be our future wedding venue! He even made sure my nails were painted that day, an important detail that he took note of!

What was your lighting inspiration?
Being that our ceremony was going to take place outside after sunset, I knew that I was going to need some help in the lighting department. Cafe lighting has always had a romantic and elegant feel while providing soft background lighting.

How would you describe your theme?
A formal, black-tie optional, beach affair. We wanted the focus of the wedding to be a celebration of our love for each other and Florida itself.

What were your colors?
Our wedding colors were chosen to reflect the colors of the evening sunset on the beach and natural elements found along the seashore: emerald, mint, coral and accents of gold.

What was the inspiration for your wedding favors?
Realizing that most favors get left behind or thrown out, we decided to go with edible favors.

We had a gourmet popcorn bar from iPop Gourmet Popcorn that was such a hit and custom cookie favors created by Alessi Bakery in the shape of the state of Florida with a heart over our venue location in complementing colors. Melissa from Alessi’s was so easy to work with. She was able to give us ideas (like the complementing colors) and help me choose the right number of cookies for my order.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Focus on your day and what is important to you. If something really stands out that you want to play a big role, express that to the vendor or your coordinator. Things may not go 100% all the time, but be grateful for the love and support that surrounds you on your wedding day.

For me, taking an hour of “me” time in a bubble bath on the wedding day allowed me time to rest and relax before the day escaped away. My husband and I also took time after the ceremony to enjoy a glass of champagne together privately and soak in the fact that we were married. I’m so happy that we did that and were able to have a few minutes together before greeting all of our guests.

Your whole wedding day will fly by, so savor every moment!
