Emma and Carlos’ destination Lakeland wedding was a wintery dream surrounded by fir and pine trees lit with twinkling lights, festive greenery garland, and bottle brush tree centerpieces accented with romantic candlelight.
“I wanted our wedding to be loosely based around Christmas (minus Santa and his reindeer). Think Christmas trees, white twinkling lights, and silver accents. It’s also an homage to my parent’s wedding; they were married on December 19th, nearly 30 years before, and had similar theming,” the bride detailed. “Our colors were silver and sage green. I chose them because they fit with the Christmas theme, and sage is one of my favorite colors.”
The California bride utilized Marry Me Tampa Bay as a valuable resource while planning their 110-guest celebration. The Florida publication provided insight into the most coveted wedding vendors in the area, assisting Emma in selecting the ideal photographer for their big day.
“We found our photographer through Marry Me Tampa Bay!” the bride beamed. “We used Marry Me Tampa Bay to look through local photographs, which is where we found Mary Anna Photography.”
Desiring images that felt soft and romantic while also remaining authentic, Emma was immediately drawn to the photography style depicted in Mary Anna Photography‘s extensive portfolio. Mary’s warm demeanor helped the couple feel comfortable in front of the lens, resulting in snapshots that captured their true personalities and chemistry.
“We wanted professional photos to commemorate our day so we could have something beautiful to look back on. Mary Anna Photography was absolutely wonderful! We wanted something beautiful, soft, and true to life. Mary’s work is just that!” the bride raved. “She did a fantastic job of making us feel at ease as well as beautifully capturing our wedding.”
Carlos and Emma each created handmade details for their nuptials. The personalized elements spoke to their relationship and created unique accents that were also meaningful for the pair.
“One of the ways we showed our personalities was through our wedding cake topper. I sculpted two ferrets, as they’ve been an inside joke for us since we started dating,” the bride explained.
As a photographer who notices all the sentimental details, Mary appreciated the personal touches that the couple incorporated into their celebration. From the bride’s heirloom shoes to the groom’s custom-made gifts for their guests, the wedding was a true reflection of the pair’s love story.
“This lovely couple crossed paths thanks to their shared love for art and animation, so they decided to incorporate their mutual interest into their wedding favors. The groom, who is currently a DreamWorks animator, designed a flipbook; when flipped through, it revealed an adorable animation featuring the bride and groom. It was a creative and heartwarming touch that added an extra layer of meaning to their special day,” Mary Neiman, owner and lead photographer of Mary Anna Photography shared. “The bride also chose to wear the same shoes her mother had worn on her own wedding day.”
