Maria Elena and Jack’s elegant downtown Tampa wedding was a chic February celebration filled with classic white flora, modern decor, and a monochromatic black and white palette. The Florida bride and groom exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony overlooking the Riverwalk, before hosting their friends and family for a formal reception in an acclaimed art gallery.
“One challenge we faced while planning was that the groom was unexpectedly deployed up until just before the wedding,” Amber Schryver, owner and lead planner at Oh My Occasions, revealed. “This added sensitivity and a unique experience to making wedding choices and decisions, but everything came together beautifully!”
The Experience
“It was important to combine both of their backgrounds, so we added Irish and Cuban elements, which I thought was such a testament to their love story. Not only were they combining their lives, but it was after so long of doing long distance in medical school. The Hora Loca was so much fun and a totally unexpected surprise for their guests!”
