Vegas Meets Pink Pony Club Styled Shoot
“The theme can be described as a Vegas elopement meets Pink Pony Club. I wanted to dive into a high-fashion version of a Vegas elopement. This theme was not created just for fun (although that was a big part of it) – It had much deeper roots in showcasing love from the LGBTQ+ community, which often gets sidelined or minimized. I wanted something loud and bold that clearly shows love is here to stay. Our colors were reds, yellows, blues, pinks, and purples. The rich, deep tones allowed us to be bold while still having everything work together cohesively. Red was the main color for our draping, creating a very romantic atmosphere that felt Valentine-chic.” -Delaney Driver, Wilder Mind Events
Channeling the vibrant energy of a Las Vegas elopement, this colorful Ybor City wedding inspiration shoot in partnership with Southern Bride created an immersive and bold celebration that bucked tradition. From the rainbow of bright colored flora and mixed ceremony seating, to the moody candlelit reception enrobed in lush red velvet draping, to the eclectic entertainment, the result was a unique and refreshing celebration that earned the planner a ‘trend setter’ award.

The Venue
Hotel Haya
“Hotel Haya was a great fit because it sits in the heart of lively Ybor City and attracts a unique and diverse crowd. The venue itself is modern and functions as a blank slate, which allowed us the freedom to design and create within the space rather than work against it.”

Recreating The Look

“This style of wedding would be perfect for a couple who deeply love each other, are not afraid to take up space, and fully trust their vendor team to execute their vision. When recreating this look, guest count is the biggest consideration. This specific concept works best with up to 30 guests; it cannot be recreated in the same way with 100 or more guests. While a similar look could be achieved, you lose the intimate feel and the ability to take up space with large design elements, such as the heart-shaped table, and to truly be creative with the layout.”

The Planning
“The purpose of a styled shoot is to push the envelope in ways real clients may not feel comfortable doing. I challenged myself by incorporating elements I rarely use, such as nontraditional ceremony seating, a heart-shaped arch, a giant cake for karaoke and drag performances, and an oversized heart-shaped table layered with mixed colors, patterns, and textures. I truly loved everything, but my biggest standouts were the invitation suite and signage details. The wording and creativity gave the shoot a well-rounded, cohesive feel and tied everything together. I also loved the heart elements, especially the oversized heart arch and the heart-shaped table. The heart table was a personal passion project, and I was so excited to create something I had never seen before.
Another favorite was the karaoke corner and drag performance area. It was such a fun and unexpected element, and I love the idea of incorporating a space like that into a wedding in a way guests would never imagine.
It was challenging at times to make so many different elements work together within one cohesive aesthetic. I believe this is why we won the ‘Trend Setter’ award with Southern Bride. We did not lean into existing trends, but instead created something entirely new, like the giant heart-shaped table.”

The Design Inspiration
“The theme can be described as a Vegas elopement meets Pink Pony Club. I wanted to dive into a high-fashion version of a Vegas elopement. I chose this theme because it is a creative concept that does not often get showcased at this level on such a large platform. With the current unrest in the world, I also wanted to highlight a same-sex couple who fully embrace femininity, color, and love, which are things I believe the world needs more of.
