Hotel Haya is a new boutique hotel minutes from Downtown Tampa in a soulful, historic world all its own. Old Ybor City charm meets modern flair at Haya Hotel. The soul of one of the oldest restaurants gracing 7th Street meets the energy of a neighborhood renaissance, all for your comfort and enjoyment.
Revitalized casitas and brick façade storefronts along 7th Avenue are shining examples of Ybor City’s rebirth. It all comes together at Hotel Haya. Through careful renovation and reimagining, the iconic past of Ybor and thoughtful new construction join together in a boutique hotel blending reverence for history and optimism for the future.
Our name honors the roots of Ybor City, carrying the spirit of the founding fathers and cigar artisans who established our neighborhood. We are proud to pay homage to Ignacio Haya whose cigar factory, Haya y Sanchez, was significant for rolling the first cigar in Tampa. Haya was instrumental in building Ybor City alongside another notable cigar manufacturer Vicente Ybor for whom our neighborhood was named. Haya’s factory was one of the first in the nation to make cigars from the light-colored Cuban tobacco called “Clear Havana.”
An eclectic blend of people, cuisines, and cultures. Named for Vicente Martínez e Ybor, these bustling blocks became home to Cuban cigar makers, German printmakers whose box labels became pieces of art, and inspired individuals from all over the globe. Today, Ybor City is an architectural gem, with wrought iron balconies and colorful tile work, standout restaurants and shopping, as well as friendly neighborhood chickens.

Our Valencia Ballroom is a spectacular setting for your event, with soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, elegant whitewashed brick, and a signature herringbone floor ready for dancing. The Valencia Ballroom’s architecture, featuring soaring two-story room heights and maximum natural light, is further enhanced by impeccable details that include whitewashed brick walls, herringbone wood floors, and custom-blown glass chandeliers.

Valencia Ballroom has floor-to-ceiling windows and elegant whitewashed brick walls that can accommodate up to 200 guests for your ceremony.
The Courtyard, located pool side, is designed with natural Florida plants and market lights! It’s the perfect spot for your intimate ceremony of 80 guests or less.
Our brand-new event space Las Novedades lies within the original brick structure of what was once Ybor City’s first Spanish-style restaurant. The architectural details of this event space celebrate all the history of Old Ybor City, making it the perfect backdrop for your eclectic wedding.
The Cocktail Hour
Valencia Foyer includes lounge furniture, local artwork on the walls, exposed brick, and floor to ceiling windows.
Courtyard/Private Dining Room our indoor / outdoor space, perfect for a cocktail hour reception. This space includes market lights in the courtyard, lounge furniture outside, natural landscape, local art work inside the Private Dining Room and large feasting tables with ivory chairs.

Catering Sales Manager: Meghan Hygh
Meghan was born and raised in DeWitt, Michigan. After graduating with a degree in Hotel, Tourism, and Event Management from Central Michigan University, Meghan started her hospitality career on Mackinac Island, MI eventually moving to St. Pete, FL. She worked as the event manager for The Vinoy Renaissance for 5 years before coming to Hotel Haya! Meghan is obsessed with her dog, Chef, rosé wine, and Grays Anatomy!
She LOVES to witness her clients making the exciting decision to (finally!) select their wedding day venue. She understands that each couple has a unique vision when it comes to their special day and enjoys offering creative and custom options to help design each couple’s perfect day!
Catering Service Manager: Meghan Cody
Originally from Trumbull, Connecticut, Meghan found her passion for hospitality early on while working as a caterer for a restaurant. After moving to Florida to attend the University of Tampa, she expanded her experience as an assistant event coordinator and later joined the Hotel Haya team in guest services.
Meghan is passionate about helping clients bring their vision to life, blending creativity and attention to detail to make the planning process smooth and memorable.
Outside of work, you can usually find Meghan hiking, hammocking, or relaxing at the beach. She’s also a big fan of crafting!

Our biggest inspiration was making sure the wedding truly felt like us. We wanted to weave together our individual cultures—Colombian and Indian—while also celebrating the American culture we share. Every detail was chosen with that in mind, from the décor to the little touches, so the day reflected not just our backgrounds, but also who we are together. Our colors were pink and green. They’re our favorite colors, and we felt like together they really represented us—bright, lively, and full of contrast but still complementary. They gave the whole celebration a joyful, personal touch.

“We wanted a space that really matched the vision we had in our heads, something beautiful, full of character, and with the option to be indoors (since Florida weather can be so unpredictable!). We also knew what didn’t feel like us; for example, we knew early on that we didn’t want a barn or something too minimal. We’re drawn to venues with personality and charm and leaned more toward an urban, stylish setting that still felt warm and inviting.
We loved that Hotel Haya was historic and a little industrial, yet still refined and colorful. The textures, stained glass, and exposed brick gave it so much personality. It also felt so authentically Tampa, which was perfect since much of my husband’s family was visiting from out of town, and we wanted them to really experience the city. The service was incredible from start to finish, too; so helpful, accommodating, and genuinely kind. We couldn’t recommend them enough.”

Hotel Haya was amazing to work with from start to finish. Our initial tour of the space with Meghan Hygh immediately gave us a great feeling, and Logan was incredible throughout the process, helping us with the menu, tastings, and ensuring that every detail reflected the vibe we envisioned for the day. Their attention to detail and commitment to making our day special made the entire experience unforgettable!
Being from Plant City, the Winter Strawberry Capital of the World, and having served as the Florida Strawberry Festival Queen in 2018, I knew I had to incorporate a nod to my hometown. For dessert, we had a ‘make-your-own’ strawberry shortcake bar, which was such a fun and unique touch. The Hotel Haya catering staff brought this idea to life beautifully, allowing our out-of-town guests to get a delicious taste of Plant City.

Knowing we had to get married during hurricane season, we wanted an indoor ceremony and reception space. We ultimately chose Hotel Haya because it checked all of our boxes and more: indoor venue, great food and drinks, nice hotel, and walkable to other bars and restaurants for out-of-town guests. Also, my father’s side of the family is Cuban, so the Cuban flare of the hotel felt right. James and I have also always loved Ybor. Coincidentally, both of our offices are in Ybor, so we spend a good amount of time there!
