FEATURING
Annie and Noah’s romantic spring South Tampa wedding was a stunning celebration filled with candles and lush florals. After a traditional ceremony in a historic church, the bride and groom welcomed their closest friends and family to an elegant reception a a private club.
“Since our wedding was held in April, I wanted to incorporate plenty of soft flowers into the design,” the bride shared. “Blue was our main accent color, chosen not only because it’s my favorite but also because it pairs so well with other colors like yellow, green, and peach, all of which we included in the florals. I also felt that blue seamlessly blended with our venue’s décor.”
To plan their 185-guest wedding and ensure their vision came to life seamlessly, the Tampa newlyweds enlisted the expertise of a wedding planner to coordinate the logistics, allowing them to focus on enjoying the day.
“We needed more than just a month-of coordinator but less than a full-on planner. I’m very decisive and know exactly what I want, so I primarily needed help staying organized, keeping on top of everything, and communicating with vendors,” the bride explained. “We were looking for someone who was organized, communicative, and well-connected in the industry, and we wanted someone familiar with the vendors we had already chosen. Katie and Haley from Breezin’ Weddings exceeded our expectations in every way. As a Type A personality, I never thought I’d be able to relax the week of the wedding, but they were so on top of everything that I felt completely comfortable handing over control.”
The bride, who was born and raised in Tampa, thoughtfully incorporated personal touches throughout the wedding and gave nods to her heritage and family history. The couple believed that focusing on the moments that mattered most, celebrating their marriage, and providing a memorable evening for their loved ones would make their wedding day truly unforgettable.
“Family is something we both place so much value on. My uncle, who is a priest, was the officiant of our wedding mass, which took place in the church I grew up in, went to school from pre-k to 8th grade, and where we are now parishioners at. The ceremony felt so personal and special to both us as a couple and my family,” the bride revealed. “At our cocktail hour, we displayed photos of our families on their wedding days, including our grandparents who had passed on. Our guest book was a cocktail book from Spain, where we honeymooned. We also had cocktail napkins during the reception featuring pictures of our 13-year-old Italian Greyhound, Cooper “We had a Jolly Trolley to transport the bridal party, which felt perfectly in tune with the Tampa theme, At the end of the night, we made our grand exit in a vintage blue car that whisked us away to the hotel.”
Reflecting on her wedding day, Annie shared some of her most memorable moments that made the celebration truly special.
“We are fairly traditional when it comes to weddings, so we didn’t do a first look. Walking down the aisle and seeing Noah for the first time was definitely surreal. You can tell from our photos that Noah felt the same way! He didn’t have too many strong opinions about the wedding besides not having a first look. I was hesitant, but I’m glad I let him have that one because it was definitely my favorite moment of the day,” the bride reminisced. “I also loved getting ready with my friends; I have the best group who kept me laughing all morning. The speeches were amazing; my sister, my dad, and Noah’s best man had the whole room laughing and crying. Our drive to the hotel in the vintage car was so cool too. The weather was perfect, and we took Bayshore Boulevard, which gave us a quiet moment alone together. At the end of the night, while our guests were lining up for our exit, we had our own private last dance. That was a last-minute schedule addition for us, and I’m so glad we did it. After a whirlwind of a day, it was really special to reflect back on how lucky we are to have had such an incredible celebration.”
The Proposal:
Noah proposed in my grandparents’ backyard in the exact spot where my dad proposed to my mom 30 years ago. After I said yes, our parents surprised us there, where we had champagne and took pictures. From there, Noah had all of our friends waiting at our house to celebrate.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
We needed more than just a month-of coordinator but less than a full-on planner. I’m very decisive and know exactly what I want, so I primarily needed help staying organized, keeping on top of everything, and communicating with vendors. We were looking for someone who was organized, communicative, and well-connected in the industry, and we wanted someone familiar with the vendors we had already chosen.
Katie and Haley from Breezin’ Weddings exceeded our expectations in every way. As a Type A personality, I never thought I’d be able to relax the week of the wedding, but they were so on top of everything that I felt completely comfortable handing over control.
Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We went to Spain. We love the food and wanted to test out our Spanish-speaking skills! My grandfather is also Spanish and spent a lot of time there when he was growing up.
Where did you host your bachelorette party?
We went to Charleston. I’ve been on a bachelorette once before and had the best time. It’s low-key and not all about clubbing, has great food, and a cheap direct flight from Tampa.
What was your wedding theme/inspiration?
Since our wedding was held in April, I wanted to incorporate plenty of soft flowers into the design.
How did the rentals enhance the ambiance of your wedding?
We chose acrylic chairs and covers from Kate Ryan Event Rentals in the ballroom. They really tied in our tablescapes.
Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
Our rental company really went above and beyond. They could tell how important the linens were to us and pulled out all the stops to show us everything they had in their inventory. They also matched our excitement which really made the process that much more fun. Between them and our florist, they completely read our minds when it came to the vibe we were going for. They set up a table mockup with the linens and centerpieces, and I was blown away. I didn’t cry when I tried on my wedding dress, but I did tear up when they showed me the table! That’s how spot-on they did. I was so impressed with our DJ. So many of our guests talked about how much fun they had on the dance floor and how incredible their musicians were! They truly looked like they were having the best time performing and interacting with the crowd which really translated to our guests.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Wedding planning should be fun! Try to enjoy the process and don’t take things so seriously. It’s important to remember that in the end, you are preparing for marriage, which extends long past the wedding day. In 20 years, you won’t remember all the details of your wedding anyway! So if something isn’t perfect, don’t sweat it!
