What era is trending in the wedding world?
70’s disco!
With vintage boho becoming a popular theme for weddings, it makes sense that the whimsical, glitzy inspiration is making an appearance in styled shoots and on social media.
Florida Avenue Brewing and Breezin’ Weddings came together to create a wedding inspiration shoot that is as gorgeous as it was groovy.
“Our theme was boho disco. The world has had enough boho weddings, so I thought it would be fun and different to add another element to the boho theme, so we came up with a 70’s disco,” Amanda Derby, the brewery’s Events Director, explained. “Our colors were boho rustic, amber, beige, and other nudes with bright florals and sunflowers, daisies, and lots of pampas grass, with bright candles and other bright tablescape pieces.”
The styled shoot highlighted the industrial event space inside the locally loved brewery and featured disco balls, bright florals, bright-colored tapered candles, and a custom backdrop.
“Our venue is the perfect location for fun and adventurous couples who enjoy and appreciate craft beer and delicious food. Couples and wedding professionals with a creative vision and a unique imagination can transform our Brewers Hall into the wedding venue of their dreams,” Amanda beamed. “We intentionally keep the space free of personalized decor to help with that transition and to show off the beautiful structural features like the polished concrete floor, exposed metal rafter ceiling, and custom millwork. Our venue offers a lovely mix of an industrial and rustic aesthetic, offering a truly unique option for couples who are looking to step out of the box and wow their guests with something different.”
Breezin’ Weddings assisted with the design, while its sister company, Breezin’ Entertainment provided live music to keep the energy high once the styled shoot transitioned into their Boho Disco Bridal Showcase. Hair and makeup artist Michele Renee The Studio created the bride’s boho rustic styling of loose curls and sparkly-pink eye makeup to complement her flower crown, while Lifelong Photography Studio captured the images with vibrancy and personality.
“Our models really shined! Ashley, who made the cake and desserts for the shoot, and her husband Dustin, filled the shoot with so much love and happiness! The copper/amber corduroy suit was too good to pass up, and the groom’s mullet was completely on-brand!” Amanda gushed.
The highlight of the shoot was the bespoke arch, which was adorned with floral bouquets filled with whimsical wildflowers; the rental company also provided disco balls, linens, and table decor.
“The custom altar backdrop constructed by AnnMarie with Outside The Box Event Rentals was a show-stopper! It fit perfectly between the entrance doors and looked great for the ceremony and reception! I also really loved all of the wildflowers in the floral design. I hope that couples can see this shoot and get creative with fun florals, and experiment with different colors and textures,” Amanda detailed.
