Nicole and Ori
The Spiral Staircase
“I chose my wedding planners first, and the design inspiration followed. I wanted it to be very bright, colorful, and untraditional. That’s exactly what Wilder Mind Events specializes in. I showed them a Pinterest board, and they took the reins from there.
Our colors were various shades of pink, orange, red, blue, and green. You could call it colorful, disco, flower party!” -The Bride
Nicole and Ori’s colorful downtown Tampa wedding was filled with whimsical flora in all shades of the rainbow, vibrant decor, and shining disco balls to set the mood. The local bride and groom exchanged vows in a historic Florida venue, witnessed by their 105 treasured guests, before transitioning to a lively cocktail-style reception and energetic dance party.
“The most memorable moment was when we did a change in wardrobe and grand re-entrance with the pleneros. Everyone was so surprised, and the dancing started quickly! We passed out colorful heart sunnies. The energy was high,” the bride reminisced. “When we started dancing and enjoying with all of our loved ones, we felt that all of our planning was worth it, and we could finally enjoy our night!”

The Planning
Wilder Mind Events
“I wanted a nontraditional wedding planner that had a colorful, fun style. I also wanted someone more affordable.
I chose Wilder Mind Events because we share the same style, and they offer great pricing. I really trusted them to fulfill their vision, and they were very patient and understanding with all of my nervous-bride questions.”

The Proposal
“Ori and I did not have a traditional proposal. I had told him I didn’t want to be surprised, so by the time I felt I was ready, I knew he was waiting for me. While we were on a date at Meat Market, I nonchalantly told him I was ready to take the next step together. We designed our engagement and wedding rings together. Once the rings were ready, Ori proposed by the water at Ballast Point after a long walk down Bayshore Boulevard. We love walking together and enjoying the Tampa views together, so it was simple and fitting.”

The Venue
The Spiral Staircase
“We only toured The Spiral Staircase and fell in love instantly. We wanted a wedding venue that wasn’t just a large, rectangular, blank room. We wanted a venue with color and character, and The Spiral Staircase was just that.
We loved the decor and all of the different spaces. It was perfect for providing our guests with a fun, intimate experience. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all in the building. It was fun that each space served a different purpose. Guests could explore and enjoy without being glued to a table. They also have a lot of lovely furniture that elevates the decor.”

From The Planner
“Nicole and Ori’s wedding was memorable for so many reasons, but what stood out most was how wholeheartedly they embraced color, creativity, and fun. From the very beginning, they envisioned a celebration that felt vibrant, interactive, and uniquely theirs, and every detail reflected that.
One of the most exciting aspects of the day was their choice of venue. The Spiral Staircase offered multiple distinct spaces, allowing us to create a different experience in every room. Rather than having one traditional reception space, guests were encouraged to explore throughout the evening. One room featured the buffet, another was dedicated to the photo booth, and a separate dessert room became a destination all its own. Upstairs, guests found card games alongside a Nintendo Switch for a nostalgic touch, while Nicole’s dad hosted his very own cocktail lounge, serving signature drinks he crafted himself.
Instead of a traditional seated dinner, Nicole and Ori opted for a cocktail-style reception, and the venue’s unique layout made it a perfect fit. The flow between rooms kept guests moving, mingling, and discovering something new around every corner, creating a dynamic experience from start to finish.
To tie it all together, bold colors, playful fringe, and sparkling disco balls transformed the space into a celebration that was as energetic as it was beautiful. Every design choice reflected the couple’s personalities, proving that weddings can be elegant, immersive, and incredibly fun all at the same time.”

The Inspiration
“I chose my wedding planners first, and the design inspiration followed. I wanted it to be very bright, colorful, and untraditional. That’s exactly what Wilder Mind Events specializes in. I showed them a Pinterest board, and they took the reins from there. Our colors were various shades of pink, orange, red, blue, and green. You could call it colorful, disco, flower party!
Florals, food, and bar were our most important elements. We wanted our guests to be wowed visually, and also well-fed and enjoying high-quality crafted cocktails. We incorporated our common interests and cultures into the celebration. Our signature drinks featured our favorite symbols: a dragonfly and an evil eye. We had Mario Kart set up during the cocktail hour and a temporary tattoo station during the reception. We incorporated Puerto Rican and Israeli elements into our ceremony and reception, including Puerto Rican food and a dessert and tea table made by a Jewish baker.”

The Signage

madWOLFE Designs
“We wanted bright, colorful, fun signage. We trusted madWOLFE Designs to create something beautiful.”

The Decor

Kate Ryan Event Rentals
“I loved that Kate Ryan Event Rentals had such a unique, classy selection. We rented their tables, chairs, linens, rugs, and bars to bring our vision to life.”

The Photo Booth

The Gala Photobooth
“I love collecting photo booth pictures, so I wanted our guests to have a special keepsake. Photo booths are always so much fun! We hired The Gala Photobooth based on recommendations from a friend and our planner. We went to a wedding that had a Gala Photobooth, and we were impressed with the quality of the pictures.”

The Entertainment
Tampa Bay DJ Company
“We wanted a bilingual DJ who could really connect with our guests. Our planner suggested DJ Ivan Torres from Tampa Bay DJ Company. DJ Ivan happened to be Puerto Rican, so we really connected, and he understood the vibe we were going for.
He was great, and the setup and lights added an extra touch. We started the reception with A Son de Plena, a traditional Puerto Rican music band. Then we had Latin and Israeli hits blasting all night.”
Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
All of our vendors were incredible, but our caterer, Spanglish Culinary Lab, really exceeded our expectations. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious the food was at our welcome event and wedding. Arms Of Persephone Floral Design stunned us with their floral artistry. I barely gave them direction, and they created floral arrangements worthy of being works of art. We had statement pieces at the base of the staircase, a floral cloud, and on our chuppah.
What advice would you give to other Tampa couples?
Try not to stress out too often. Everything ends up working out, and if little blips come up, the guests will not know.
Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We went to Singapore and multiple cities in Thailand. We wanted to experience a little bit of everything!
