Contemporary White Wedding
“The theme of this shoot was modern romance – an elegant fusion of contemporary design and timeless love. This allowed the museum’s architectural features and artwork to stand out while ensuring the brides remained the focal point. The simplicity of white also enhanced the elegance of the design, creating a refined and ethereal atmosphere.” -Crysta Miller, Owner and Lead Planner, Stelloccasions
Channeling a neutral palette befitting the sleek interior of an art museum, this downtown Tampa wedding styled shoot married clean, minimalist details with classic elements for a blended design that felt appropriate for yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
“The theme of this shoot was modern romance – an elegant fusion of contemporary design and timeless love. When the Tampa Museum of Art and I partnered for this photoshoot, I wanted to ensure the design highlighted the museum’s striking architectural features. Its sleek lines, artistic ambiance, and sophisticated aesthetic provided the perfect backdrop to enhance the refined yet intimate vision we aimed to capture,” Crysta Miller, Owner and Lead Planner at Stelloccasions shared. “The color palette was a monochromatic white, chosen to create a timeless and sophisticated aesthetic. This allowed the museum’s architectural features and artwork to stand out while ensuring the brides remained the focal point. The simplicity of white also enhanced the elegance of the design, creating a refined and ethereal atmosphere.”
With an emphasis on a design that blended seamlessly with the surrounding architecture of the venue, the planner selected sleek, minimalist design elements. From the all-white table settings accented with elegant crystal and glassware from Kate Ryan Event Rentals to the whimsical, ikibana-style floral arrangements, the overall vibe felt classic yet fresh.
“This photoshoot featured custom menus, escort cards, and a welcome sign, which added an extra layer of texture while maintaining the monochromatic color palette. Additionally, elements such as the water glasses, chargers, and table lamps were intentionally selected to complement the design,” the planner detailed. “Beyond these details, all aspects of the shoot were expertly executed by our trusted vendor partners, ensuring a cohesive and beautifully curated aesthetic.”
A team of seasoned wedding pros came together to set the scene through their creative products and services. The thoughtfully curated details were expertly captures in artistic still photography courtesy of Amber Yonker Photography, as well as exquisite cinematography thanks to Iyrus Weddings. The resulting images and video documented the unique style in stunning storytelling fashion.
“One of my favorite details was the caterpillar table setup with beautiful florals, particularly the hydrangeas and single tulips, which create a stunning visual narrative. The cascading arrangement of these flowers enhanced the elongated shape of the table, adding a touch of elegance and whimsy. This thoughtful design not only elevated the table setting but also added a layer of intimacy and warmth,” Amber Yonker, owner of Amber Yonker Photography beamed. “The overall aesthetic is a perfect blend of sophistication and charm, showcasing how floral elements can transform a dining experience into something truly special.”
Crysta recommends that couples embrace a neutral palette and incorporate timeless elements to ensure their union is the focus of the celebration during their special day, rather than getting caught up in passing trends.
“The perfect couple for this type of wedding is anyone who desires a simple yet timeless design that remains visually captivating. By blending current wedding trends with classic elements, this aesthetic creates a unique and sophisticated ambiance,” the planner advised. “The monochromatic palette ensures that all eyes remain on the couple, allowing their love story to take center stage in an elegant and refined setting.”

What was your inspiration for this shoot?
My inspiration stemmed not only from the venue itself but also from the table linens, which were the first design element I selected. They became the foundation for the overall aesthetic, guiding the direction of the shoot. By utilizing a monochromatic color palette, I was able to create depth and visual interest through textures and layering, resulting in a sophisticated and cohesive design.
How did you balance current wedding trends and classic elements in this styled shoot?
I balanced current wedding trends with classic elements by incorporating them in a way that felt both elegant and timeless. For example, the bow on the cake is a popular trend circulating on Pinterest, but its simplicity and use of traditional satin fabric give it a refined, classic appeal. Similarly, the bride’s ceremony dress features a trending basque waist silhouette, yet the timeless satin ballgown ensures a look that will remain visually stunning for years to come. By blending these details thoughtfully, the shoot captured both modern sophistication and enduring elegance.
The combination of modern trends and classic elements was approached with careful consideration. We wanted to keep things fresh and stylish while ensuring a timeless appeal. For example, when designing the mono-floral bouquet, we chose the classic calla lily—a nod to timeless beauty—while still embracing a current, minimalist trend. Similarly, when planning the table decor, we balanced trendy table lamps with elegant, traditional touches, ensuring the overall look was both on-trend and enduring.
