Green and Purple Wedding Ideas
The Colonial At SUnset
“The theme of this shoot was a moody garden party. I chose a darker green as my primary color with more black than white accents. The primary color for this photoshoot was a deep evergreen brought to life in the velvet linens from Reverie Social. This evergreen color was accented with various shades of green throughout the stationery, pops of purple in the florals, and black and gold accents in the tabletop rentals.” -Crysta Miller, Owner and Lead Planner at Stelloccasions
Channeling a saturated combination of jewel tones, this Tampa Bay wedding styled shoot combined luxurious olive linens and greenery with vibrant eggplant and amethyst blooms for a moody garden party vibe. A private estate venue served as the backdrop for an outdoor Florida ceremony, while feasting tables nestled in front of an impressive fireplace created a cozy dinner reception.
“The perfect couple for this type of wedding is someone who has a vision of incorporating deep, rich colors into their design but is wary of having a wedding that doesn’t stand the test of time. This design brings a unique twist to a classic vision, Crysta Miller, Owner and Lead Planner at Stelloccasions explained. “When recreating this design, couples should take the venue itself into consideration. While I like to call this a moody garden party, the dark elements were offset by the light and airy nature of the venue. If a dark and moody venue is chosen, this design might blend into the background and not have the same effect.”

The Design
“The theme of this shoot was a moody garden party. I’ve recently worked with many monochromatic color palettes, and I was craving a colorful color scheme. However, I didn’t want to design the typical color palette of bright colors from the entire rainbow. I chose a darker green as my primary color with more black than white accents.
The primary color for this photoshoot was a deep evergreen brought to life in the velvet linens from Reverie Social. This evergreen color was accented with various shades of green throughout the stationery, pops of purple in the florals, and black and gold accents in the tabletop rentals.
This shoot featured custom placecards and menus from Nealy Co. Emily Pellegrino, a live calligrapher, also customized leather luggage tags for each guest.”

The Planning
Stelloccasions
“My favorite element of this shoot was truly the collaboration among the vendors. I challenged myself to bring a group of creatives together whom I had never worked with before, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team.
A funny story from the shoot day – We had an extra velvet green table linen and while I was off handling another task, my sister, who was working as my assistant for the day, started hanging the linen on the mantle. I loved how it turned out!”

The Inspiration

“My inspiration for this shoot was truly just me wanting to work with a colorful palette. I found the beautiful velvet green linens and went from there.
This design was not heavily focused on current wedding trends but rather focusing on a beautiful design. I did, however, incorporate amaranthus into the florals as well as having a live calligrapher which are both trending in wedding designs and experiences.”
