Love is the most moving, powerful, meaningful, beautiful part of the human experience and we are so lucky to get to capture that for our couples. Aside from love, weddings are full of hope, inspiration, happiness and testimony — all things which fuel our passion for photographing and filming weddings.
Our Wedding Style
We like to say that our wedding style is a refreshing mix of playfulness and photojournalism. Some popular terminology that couples use to describe our style is vibrant, fun, candid, editorial, filmy, classic, timeless, true to color, real life, documentary style. Most importantly we want you to be YOU and sometimes that can be challenging for couples if they are not used to being in front of the camera or don’t enjoy the spotlight; so our way of directing what we capture, helps our couples get there.

What Inspired Us to Start Our Business
To pine: to yearn for someone or something
To forge: to create, to form with fire
Photography has always been a big part of my life — even if I wasn’t always the one holding the camera. From my mom taking a million photos of me and my siblings growing up to recently going through my grandparents house and finding a whole room full of boxes of photos and albums going back decades. The depth and importance of documenting personal family history is something will stay with me forever.
I launched into the wedding industry straight after college when I started working as creative director and designer for a bridal magazine. Pine & Forge came to life in 2017 and truly took off in 2019 when it became a full-time endeavor. It comes from a deeply sentimental place to be able photograph and film these magical, personal moments for my couples, while adoring the fine, intentional details.

Most couples spend between $4,000-$8,000 on their photo and/or video package with us.
I am from South Dakota and for most people, I’m the first person they have ever met who is from there. I am a three-time croquet tournament champion. On the daily: I believe in warm fuzzies — they make people happy and happy people are the best people.
One thing most couples would be surprised to know is:
I am ordained in the state of Florida and on one occasion, had to spontaneously officiate the wedding ceremony of one of our couples who found out 10 minutes after the ceremony was supposed to start, they did NOT have an officiant for their wedding day. The rest of my 3-person photo/video team stepped up to capture the ceremony flawlessly, the guests had no clue anything was amiss, the mother of the bride thanked me profusely afterward for literally saving the day and it was quite a different experience editing a wedding film that had my spur of the moment script (and my voice) on it.
Non-wedding Passions:
Okay there’s actually three things that I will talk your ear off about if we’re not talking about weddings.
- Anyone who knows me, knows that I am mega-obsessed with my four rescue pets: Dexter (verified thicc boi cat), Archie (tuxedo boy cat), Lola (sweet pit/lab mix) and Maverick (smart, energetic Belgian Malinois).
- Scuba diving. This is a major passion of mine that I discovered while at a Caribbean destination wedding. I am obsessed with coral — because hello color and tiny fish so cute. Just picture me wearing literal heart eyeballs when I’m under water. It’s a calming, other-worldly type of experience and I cannot get enough.
- Color theory in fashion. This one is mildly not surprising because I’m a visual person and I clearly love color, and if you get me on this topic, you’ll have to tell me when to stop. While I will likely wear black at your wedding, my closet no longer qualifies as “mostly black.”
