Michelle and Jack’s elegant South Tampa wedding combined classic details with a holiday palette of emerald and metallic gold for a timeless January celebration among their 175 guests.
“Since our wedding date was so close to the holidays we decided to lean into the Christmas theme/winter with dark green, gold, and white throughout,” the bride shared. “We opted mainly for shades of green and gold. We chose these colors to make it a holiday/winter theme.”
The local bride and groom chose a sentimental wedding venue to host their celebration, which the bride attributes as one of the most unique elements of her wedding day. After spending many days at the country club together, and then getting engaged at the property, their relationship came full circle by hosting their reception in the same space.
The invitation suite set the tone for the overall celebration, featuring a classic calligraphy design with touches of green and gold in the custom wrap and floral envelope liner, courtesy of stationery designer A+P Design Co.
“We looked for someone who could work with our ideas and make it look great! A+P Design Co was recommended by our wedding planner. Alicia’s invitations were perfect for our style!” the bride raved.
The couple relied on Carrie Wildes Photography to document their special day in a timeless style, but admit that her easygoing personality and friendly demeanor are what truly sold them.
“Honestly, every wedding photographer takes pretty great photographs but the advice I received from a friend was to make sure you mesh well with your photographer as you have to spend your whole day with them. When we met Carrie we knew she was the one and her photographs were great too!” the bride gushed. “Carrie was amazing, and we’re so happy we ended up with her as our photographer.”
To incorporate the color palette throughout the reception décor, Michelle chose striking gold Chiavari chairs and charger plates from Kate Ryan Event Rentals, luxe emerald linens from Over The Top Rental Linens, and decorative place settings from A Chair Affair.
The bride recalls seeing their reception space as an impactful moment of the day.
“Definitely walking into the ballroom post-reception and seeing the set up before everyone else and taking it all in [was the most memorable experience]!” Michelle reminisced.

The Proposal:
It was Christmas morning, and we were driving from Jack’s parents’ house to my parents’ house. When Jack pulled into Palma Ceia he said he needed to “grab something out of his locker,” and then he walked me to the back near the golf course and proposed. It came full circle when we ended up getting married at Palma Ceia!
Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We did a mini-moon in Pass-A-Grille beach for a few days after our wedding to decompress. It is one of our favorite spots and the perfect place to relax for a few days. We are doing our actual honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands, and I’m so excited!
Where did you host your bachelorette party?
We went to Vegas; it was so fun because there were 12 of us total and only two of us had previously been there so it just felt like one big girls’ trip!

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
