Cassidy and Malcolm's destination Palm Harbor wedding featured an outdoor ceremony under a majestic oak tree with Spanish moss, classic elements, and touches of greenery with accents of burgundy.
“I wanted to get married outside and have lots of greenery. Green is my favorite color,” the bride shared. “Originally I wanted a champagne color for my bridesmaids but when they tried on the wine color I changed my mind! The color looked great on everyone. Malcolm wore this awesome wine-colored jacket to match (which I actually did not see until I walked down the aisle!).”
The Nashville bride visited Marry Me Tampa Bay for photo inspiration and looked for a wedding photographer with a specific editing style.
“I came across Marry Me Tampa Bay's website many times because I was getting ideas for pictures. Something I was looking for in a photographer was someone who edits in a way that compliments my husband and my contrasting skin tones,” Cassidy explained. When I found Joyelan Photography, I knew Joy was the one! Who wouldn't want ‘Joy' on their wedding day? She made us feel so comfortable and even respected our boundaries.”
The couple personalized their 125-guest wedding by choosing a date with significant meaning and by incorporating their faith.
“Malcolm and I got married on September 18th. This was exactly one year after we were engaged and formed our hashtag #LawsofLove. We intentionally picked our date to be significant in that way,” the bride detailed. “We really wanted to honor God in our ceremony and give Him the glory for how Malcolm and I had got to this point. That was most important.”

The Proposal:
Malcolm had driven 9.5 hours to Greenville, NC to propose on a Friday afternoon. My dad and my brother knew about it for months! They didn't let my mom in on the secret until the week of just to make sure the secret stayed a secret.
I was getting ready for a virtual date with Malcolm. He had sent me to get my nails done and all that jazz. By the time I was done with my nails and errands for the day and was getting ready to log in to my computer for our Facetime, Malcolm was on standby at a store near my parents' home. My brother had called me into the living room, and Malcolm walked through the back door! I thought he was here for the weekend to take me on a date but then he got down on one knee! I really had no idea he was planning to propose then. I thought I would've figured whenever he was planning to do it!

What were your wedding colors?

What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
Something I was looking for in a photographer was someone who edits in a way that compliments my husband and my contrasting skin tones.
When I found Joy (aside from her name) of Joyelan Photography I knew she was the one! Who wouldn't want ‘Joy' on their wedding day? We first met her for our engagement session and built a friendship from there. She made us feel so comfortable and even respected our boundaries. We did not kiss on the lips until we were at the altar! Crazy right?!
Joy, along with our videographer, made sure to capture that moment perfectly. They were such a great team together! Joy was super helpful in finding other vendors.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We flew out to Cancun, Mexico and stayed at Moon Palace. We loved getting to relax by the pool and chill for the week. Cancun is a great place to get away and relax without spending a lot of money. We didn't do many excursions because we wanted as much “us” time as possible. Being long distant for most of our relationship probably produced that. Next vacation we take we definitely want to explore so much more!
