Carly and Matt’s waterfront St. Pete wedding featured a private outdoor sunset ceremony and ballroom reception with color palette of white, grey and blush tones to create a romantic ambiance.

“Our wedding theme was very clean, crisp, and elegant. We both wanted to look back on this day and remember it for its simplicity and elegance,” the bride shared.

Searching for a St. Pete wedding venue that would capture the essence of a Florida wedding, the bride and groom selected Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.

“Since we had so many out-of-town guests, we wanted them to experience the magical Florida weather! Both of us love the beach, so when we saw Isla’s breathtaking water views, we were sold! It was important to Carly and Matt Wanting to incorporate their mini golden doodle, Sparrow, into their ceremony, and the couple hired Fairy Tail Pet Care to handle all of the pet logistics.

“Sparrow is the most important little thing in our lives and we wanted him to receive the best care,” the bride explained. “If it weren’t for Fairy Tail, Sparrow wouldn’t of been able to join us on our special day. They picked him up early and dropped him off at the end of the night. They certainly exceeded our expectations by having a meeting with us at our home so they could get to know our puppy beforehand.”

To complete the look of their wedding reception, the couple turned to Tampa Bay wedding rental companies Over the Top Rental Linens and Gabro Event Services. Gabro provided beautiful clear chiavari chairs and soft draping that complemented the beautiful linens from Over the Top.

“We wanted a rental company that was honest, personable, and able to find what we were looking for. Gabro was amazing! They made this exquisite custom dance floor monogram that was actually the same monogram taken from our Save-the-Date invitations. It was such a sentimental touch added,” the bride gushed. “Over the Top was also spectacular! They were able to achieve our clean and crisp look by supplying beautiful winter white linens that really enhanced the beauty of our flowers!”

Looking back on her wedding day, the bride shared that one of her most cherished memories was the vow reading.

“It took almost one year to get Matt on board with writing personal vows. We are so glad we did! It really solidified our love for each other and gave guests a glimpse into our special romance. We also really loved our first dance together. We danced to Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay. At about two minutes into the song, the beat got faster and all our wedding guests joined us on the dance floor to finish out the song! It was so cool!” the bride reminisced.

The Proposal:
We met at a Saint Patrick’s Day parade in Tampa. We were dating for about one year before the proposal. I grew up in New Jersey, so when we were visiting my family over Christmas, it only made sense for Matt to propose at Rockefeller Center! Going up north is my favorite thing to do, so Matt really took that into consideration. He even hired a photographer to capture the mega surprise that was awaiting! I had no idea that this was coming, and the look of surprise on my face is now captured forever! Matt originally told me the photographer was just there to taking pictures of all of the people at the tree. I believed him, and about 10 minutes later, Matt was down on one knee!

What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted a wedding venue that would capture the beauty of Florida and where our guests were able to stay on location the whole time, but were able to move around various parts of the venue.

Why did you choose to incorporate your pet?
Our precious mini golden doodle, Sparrow, is the most important little thing in our lives, and we wanted him to receive the best care. He kicked off the ceremony with my best friend, Olivia and my cousin, Dylan.

How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration? 
Clean, crisp, and elegant. We both wanted to look back on this day and remember it for its simplicity and elegance. Cala Lilies are my favorite flower, so it was sentimental to incorporate them along with gorgeous orchids to tie in the clean look we were going for. Pops of greenery were also added that reflected the palm tree views seen from the surrounding areas on the beach and Isla del Sol’s golf course.

What were your colors?
White, grey, and blush tones. We chose these colors to accentuate the beauty of the nature around our venue. My bridesmaids wore shades of blush pink dresses by Monique Lluiller and Matt’s groomsmen wore stone grey suits. We loved the way the blush and grey tones paired with each other. It really tied in the crashing waves from outside and sunny skies from above.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
The golden rule of advice: relax! Enjoy every minute! It goes by so quickly! Enjoy your day the minute you wake up to the minute you go to sleep. Always remember why you are getting married in the first place, because you are in love with your better half and want to spend the rest of your life with him/her. Don’t let the small stuff get in the way of your special day and know that even though there will be small bumps through out the day, it’s all background noise!
