Cassey and Brian
“Our wedding theme was a reflection of us – natural and airy elements for me, and golf-themed parts for Brian. Our colors were neutral shades of ivory and white with some green because we wanted our design to feel natural and organic.” -The Bride
Cassey and Brian’s spring, rooftop Tampa wedding was a stunning blend of airy elegance and personalized details, featuring lush ivory and white florals accented with greenery and playful golf-themed décor.
“Our wedding theme was a reflection of us – natural and airy elements for me, and golf-themed parts for Brian,” the bride shared. “Our colors were neutral shades of ivory and white with some green because we wanted our design to feel natural and organic.”
The couple chose to wed in Tampa because of its deep personal significance to their relationship.
“We live in Tampa, and it is where we met and fell in love, which is why we chose to get married here,” Cassey said. “Our out-of-town guests raved about visiting Tampa and said it felt like a true vacation, not just a trip.”
Cassey read the Marry Me Tampa Bay blog to find decor inspiration and research vendors while planning her April wedding.
“I used Marry Me Tampa Bay during my planning process, and it was very helpful to see photos of real weddings to see how certain vendors did things and what their styles were,” the bride explained.
Surrounded by 120 of their closest family and friends, the couple tied the knot on the rooftop of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, an elegant waterfront venue. Guests enjoyed a breathtaking terrace ceremony overlooking the water, followed by a reception with floor-to-ceiling windows that showcased the breathtaking views.
“We wanted a venue on the water with a beautiful view, and the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay was perfect,” the bride raved. “It actually wasn’t our original venue. Our first choice was damaged during the hurricanes and wouldn’t reopen in time. The Grand Hyatt was so helpful with the last-minute transition, and we could not have been happier with how it worked out.”
The bride wore an off-the-shoulder dress with a sweetheart neckline and long sheer sleeves. Her hair was styled down and natural with a slight wave flowing over her shoulders, and a long train trailed behind her as she entered the ceremony.
Cassey and Brian personalized their wedding by blending each of their personalities into the celebration. From the golf-inspired décor reflecting Brian’s love of the sport to Cassey’s soft, neutral color palette with delicate accents, every detail felt uniquely theirs. Guests loved the thoughtful touches, including golf flag table numbers, mini golf cart accents on the tables, a putting green personalized with the couple’s names, and a seating chart that invited everyone to “let’s par-tee.”
“Brian is a huge golf guy, so the golf décor was a big reflection of his personality,” the bride revealed. “The natural and airy design was more a reflection of mine.”
Music was a top priority for the couple, and they chose Events Done Right to keep the energy high all night long.
“Our music reflected both of us, with lots of throwback songs that made everyone want to dance and sing along. I read a ton of reviews when looking for a DJ, and Events Done Right had nothing but stellar reviews,” Cassey beamed. “DJ Cesar was super personable and went above and beyond to make sure the music and vibes were perfect. He was exactly what we were looking for.”
When asked about their most memorable moment, the couple couldn’t choose just one, but their first look stood out as an intimate highlight of the day.
“It is hard to pick just one memorable moment because the whole day was unforgettable, but our first look was so special,” Cassey reminisced. “It was a moment with just the two of us where we could really take in each other’s raw reactions.”

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
Playa Mujeres, México. Our only goal was to find a beautiful location where we could spend a few days by the pool or beach, unwinding and enjoying quality time together.
Where did you host your bachelor and bachelorette parties?
My bachelorette party was in West Palm Beach, FL. Since it was the first weekend of March, I wanted to ensure it was a destination that would be warm. It was also easy to get to from Tampa, so that was a plus.
Brian had his bachelor party in Detroit, MI. He is from the Detroit suburbs and is a huge Detroit sports fan, so he and the guys had a sports-filled weekend.

The Proposal:
Brian and I lived in Chicago at the same time for seven years, but we did not know each other. We did not meet until we moved to Tampa. We took a trip back there, and he proposed at a beautiful park with the skyline in the background. It felt special to get engaged in a place that is a part of each of us individually.

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
My photographer really exceeded my expectations. She helped create a timeline before the wedding and then managed what seemed like a hundred moving parts throughout the day to ensure we captured all the photos we wanted. We truly had the best day that we never wanted to end. Thanks to our vendors, it went off without a hitch.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Get married in Tampa Bay! Our home is beautiful. Our out-of-town guests raved about visiting here, saying it felt like a true vacation, not just a trip. It was also nice for us to be close to home before and after all the celebrations.
