Rustic White & Grey Rocking H Ranch Wedding | Lakeland, FL
Brittany and Matt chose neutral colors to highlight the natural beauty of their outdoor wedding at Rocking H Ranch.
The Tampa couple married under the rustic wedding venue’s large trees and then danced the night away with the evening stars as their canopy.
“We knew from the day we got engaged that we wanted to get married outdoors and somewhere with a rustic feel,” the bride explained. “Rocking H Ranch is just a beautiful venue and atmosphere. It fit everything we were looking for and more, and it showed how much the owners cared and took pride in what they do.”
The white and grey Lakeland wedding featured long farm tables adorned with wooden box centerpieces and greenery, chalkboard decor signs and of course, the bride’s blue jean jacket and cowboy boots.
“We just made it us,” Brittany shared. “If you asked anyone who came to the wedding, I am sure they would say it all embodied who we are perfectly.”
To capture their big day, the pair hired Lakeland wedding photographer Jeff Mason Photography.
“[We looked for] someone who was easy to work with, paid attention to detail and had a package that offered everything we knew we wanted to have,” the bride said. “We actually met Jeff the day we were first touring the ranch and knew then he was our guy. He knew the ranch property well and had such a professional, yet fun personality that we knew we would love to work with.”
Why did you chose Tampa Bay for your wedding?
Tampa is where we were both born and have lived all our lives. It was an easy decision.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We knew from the day we got engaged that we wanted to get married outdoors and somewhere with a rustic feel. It was also important to us to have a venue that was committed to making sure our day was as we wanted it to be, not just “another wedding.”
Rocking H Ranch is simply just a beautiful venue and atmosphere. It fit everything we were looking for and more, and it showed how much the owners cared and took pride in what they do. Angela and her team are amazing!
What was one of your most memorable moments?
Besides FINALLY being married, was being able to share a special moment with each other as we shared letters with our vows privately before the ceremony without seeing each other.
What elements of your wedding were the most important?
Matt and I have both experienced great losses to our family in recent years. It was very important to us to memorialize those family members that could not be there as best as we could.
The Proposal:
Matt proposed on a Sunday evening, after we spent the day with family. We were on our porch having a couple drinks and relaxing. He went inside to go to the bathroom (which he still to this day swears is true) and shortly after returning, got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

How would you describe your theme?
We were going for a more simplistic, rustic elegance. We wanted all of our guests to see our wedding and say “this is definitely Matt and Brittany”.
What were your colors?
Our colors were mostly white and grey with a teal accent color. We chose these because they were neutral colors that would not clash with the natural beauty and colors the venue already had to offer.
How did you incorporate you and your husband’s personalities into the wedding?
We just made it us. We picked out stuff we liked that fit the theme. We are both hands on, DIY people and tried to do as much as we could ourselves to make it more personable. If you asked anyone who came to the wedding, I am sure they would say it all embodied who we are perfectly.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Have fun with your planning process and don’t sweat the little things. There will be things that will not go the way you planned, but your special day will go by so fast that you need to just enjoy being married!
