Ericka and Rickey’s rustic, chic Plant City wedding perfectly combined the Largo couples’ personalities.
“My personality is drawn to nature, animals and the great outdoors. My husband is very social and the openness of the layout of the barn, dance floor and outdoor games allowed for interaction of guests at all areas,” the bride shared.
The pair’s lavender, pink and grey palette complemented their outdoor, country surroundings.
“That color combination went very well with the lush green setting of the blueberry fields,” Ericka said. “Getting married along blueberry fields with a barn reception was super unique. I’ve been told by guests that our wedding was the most beautiful and fun wedding.”
With the bride a wedding photographer herself, she had high standards for who would capture her rustic, Plant City wedding.
“I have very specific taste in the composition of a photograph. I look for certain techniques with regard to lighting, subject isolation and overall composition,” Ericka explained. “Rad Red Creative hit the mark on every technique I wanted. Working with Brittany and Leo were like working with long lost friends who were prepared for everything. They had such attention to detail, which really showed in my wedding photos and film.”

Looking back, Ericka shared that some of her most memorable moments were the private times that she spent with her groom.
“The time I had with just my husband was so special. You’d be surprised how little you see each other on the big day, so our post-ceremony photos with just the two of us was memorable,” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
The proposal was very low-key. It was his birthday, and we were outside watching cardinals at dusk (I’m a big fan of nature). We were discussing his birthday gifts thus far, when he mentioned there was one more thing he wanted for his birthday, and BAM, he dropped to one knee and asked me to promise him forever.
What did you look for in a wedding makeup artist?
My wonderful photographers referred Lasting Luxe to me. Dena has a nice website with lots of samples of past work. I had never had airbrushed makeup before, so I wanted to try it out to make sure I would approve on the big day. She made me feel very comfortable and understood all my “weird skin problems” as I call them, so I booked her.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
As a photographer myself, I have very specific taste in the composition of a photograph. I look for certain techniques with regard to lighting, subject isolation and overall composition. The photograph (or series of photographs) should tell a beautiful story.
Rad Red Creative hit the mark on every technique I wanted. I chose to hire them at the consultation because their personalities were so fun and easy to get along with. Working with Brittany and Leo were like working with long lost friends who were prepared for everything. They helped me create a game plan to manage family photos, and I truly feel like they were able to anticipate situations ahead of time and manage them efficiently. They had such attention to detail, which really showed in my wedding photos/film.
How would you describe your theme?
Rustic chic. It was chosen for the location and the flair that I wanted at the event.
What were your colors?
Lavender, pink and grey. We selected them because that color combination went very well with the lush green setting of the blueberry fields.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Don’t settle for anything on your big day, especially your photographers.
Pay the extra to have videographers. The day went by so fast that I need the moving film to take me back to that beautiful, perfect day. You will never regret money invested into preserving your memories, but you will definitely regret if you don’t have those photos and videos to remind you of that day.
