Lauren & Scott
“The inspiration for our wedding was a spring garden. We love the different mix of flowers and colors and the movement of the pieces. Our colors were white, green, mauve, petal pink, peach, and light blue. These colors reminded me again of a spring garden, minus the yellow and purple!” -The Bride
Lauren and Scott’s Thonotosassa wedding combined a soft pastel palette of light pinks and neutral ivory threaded throughout bountiful flora. Rustic wood elements paired with luxe gold details created a cozy yet chic reception space, where guests enjoyed a candlelit dinner in a pine-clad barn.
“The inspiration for our wedding was a spring garden. These colors reminded me again of a spring garden, minus the yellow and purple!”
The Brandon couple relied on the experts at Coastal Coordinating to plan their 112-guest event and allow the bride and groom to relax and enjoy the day. From the first conversation, their connection with owner Katy Turchich-Martin was apparent, and her organization and broad industry knowledge put their minds at ease.
“I wanted someone I could connect with, who understood my vision and was very organized. From my first call with Katy at Coastal Coordinating, she was very personable and relatable. She had suggestions based on my vision and opinions. It was apparent she knew her stuff, and she was very easy to get along with,” Lauren gushed.
The pair personalized their wedding day experience with heartfelt details. Exchanging vows in front of their closest friends and family became a priority for the couple and ended up becoming one of their most treasured memories.
“We had Scott’s brother as our officiant. This made us much more comfortable saying our vows, which even correlated with part of his brother’s description of our relationship. We felt very special and honored to have someone who knew us so well marrying us,” Lauren revealed. “Additionally, we skipped the garter and bouquet toss.”
The bride’s floral vision included an abundance of flowers befitting her spring garden wedding style. The creative team at Monarch Events and Design made her dream a reality through creative ideas and special surprises that left Lauren in awe.
“I looked for someone who could see my vision but stay within my budget. Jean King from Monarch Events and Design was able to pick similar flowers at our price point to give us the same look we wanted. She truly worked her magic on our day,” the bride beamed. “Jean knows her stuff. She made my floral vision come to life and put her own twist on it. She worked with my family to have some surprises at the wedding with the decor and flowers. It fit perfectly, and I loved it! She surprised me with chandelier florals on all the lighting in the barn.”
With several key moments standing out in her mind, the traditional aspects were the true highlight of the evening.
“My most memorable moments were Scott’s vows, walking down the aisle with my dad, Scott’s and my first dance, and dancing the night away (with Joshua on the guys’ shoulders),” the bride reminisced. “Looking back on our day, I was most impressed with Scott’s vows! He had me and all of our guests bawling. He is not a man of many words, but he completely blew me out of the water with his vows. That ended up being the most important.”

The Proposal:
We were on my birthday trip to Charleston. Scott surprised me by renting a sailboat. He proposed when we went to have the crew take a picture of us against the sunset. Ten minutes later, we got caught in a thunderstorm on the boat and had to hide in the cabin from the rain until the crew was able to get us back to the docks.

Where did you host your bachelorette party?
Denver, Colorado. I wanted something outdoors and full of activities so we weren’t just sitting and drinking the whole time!
Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We are going to Hawaii! We chose it because, between the islands, we have plenty of activities like hiking, snorkeling, helicopter rides, and relaxation.

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
Jean King at Monarch Events and Design made my floral vision come to life and put her own twist on it. She surprised me with chandelier florals on all the lighting in the barn. This was something I originally wanted but could not afford, so I did not even ask! She even provided flower names, pictures, and how they would be put together for what part of the day in a PDF document for us to review together.
Our venue allowed me to come and go as I pleased up until the wedding and were really easy to work with. Any detail I needed Karin provided.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Pay for the full planner package. We did a day of coordination only, and that was my biggest regret. I wish I had more help with the planning and organizing. That would be my one change.
