Tosha and Sean’s Love Story:
In March of 2010, Sean and I first met at Manny’s Chophouse, which is where I was working at the time. He would always come in with his friends. I had the biggest crush on him. Me being shy, I would never would’ve approach him. But sure enough one of my best friends, Larissa, who worked with me wasn’t shy. She approached him, and he asked her over to watch movies. She “made” me tag along, and the whole time I talked his ear off.
We hit it off so well.
Two months later we were officially were a couple.
Ten months from then, on March 22, 2011, we were walking around Lake Morton after dinner, and we came in front of Hollis Gardens. I mentioned how my sister almost got married there, and at that moment, Sean got down on one knee. I was in complete shock! I didn’t know if he was just joking or being serious.
I saw him open a little red box and behold there was my ring. I was jumping up and down, repeatedly screaming, “This is really happening!”
Years before she even met Sean, Tosha had already found her dream Lakeland wedding venue, which just happened to be a friend’s ranch.
“I met Angela’s [owner of Rocking H Ranch] daughter Courtney at Rocking H Ranch seven years ago, before they officially started doing weddings. I met her at their home, and I was blown away with the view,” Tosha reminisced. “I was in love. I wanted to move in! That day I told Courtney, ‘You think your mom would let me get married here?’ Never ever thinking I would. Dreams do come true!”
The Tampa Bay couple’s Lakeland wedding was spread among the ranch’s 100 acres.
“I always knew I wanted an outdoor wedding; I wanted something different than being stuck in a ballroom,” the bride shared. “I love how there were different areas to choose from. I had the reception under the stars with the market lights. With it being outdoors, the October weather was perfect.”
To complement their rustic surroundings, the couple hosted a gold, cream, teal and peach shabby chic wedding.
“I’ve always felt that shabby chic is romantic, but casual at the same time,” Tosha explained. “And I’m all about light pastel colors.”
To make her wedding her own, the bride awarded her six nieces and nephews as the flower girls and ring bearers, instead of the typical bridal party.
“It’s probably one of my favorite parts,” the bride gushed. “They were thrilled to have all the attention.”
As a nod to the groom, Sean included one of his favorites indulgences in the wedding reception: cookies.
“He doesn’t go a day out of the week not having cookies and milk before bed,” the bride shared.
Looking back, Tosha shared that one of her most memorable moments came at the beginning of her wedding ceremony.
“My wedding day finally hit me while I was walking down the aisle. I had the privilege of having my amazing brother Eugene walk me down. I wouldn’t take that moment for anything in the world,” the bride reminisced. “That moment when you officially become husband and wife was probably one of the happiest moments of my life.”
