Kat and Alan
“My inspiration was modern, colorful, and fun! My husband and I are both minimalists, but as artists, we wanted every detail to feel intentional and bring joy, even with minimal décor. Funny enough, I was inspired by the Barbie movie! I never really liked pink until recently, but once I did, I couldn’t get enough. We chose shades of pink to create a playful, fun vibe for our wedding.” -The Bride
Kat and Alan’s Lakeland wedding was a beautiful celebration filled with vibrant florals, a bold pink color palette, and a modern, minimalistic design.
“My inspiration was modern, colorful, and fun!” the bride beamed. “My husband and I are both minimalists, but as artists, we wanted every detail to feel intentional and bring joy, even with minimal décor. Funny enough, I was inspired by the Barbie movie! I never really liked pink until recently, but once I did, I couldn’t get enough. We chose shades of pink to create a playful, fun vibe for our wedding.”
The Melbourne bride and groom chose Lakeland for their February nuptials, captivated by Haus 820‘s modern, stylish design and indoor accommodations that perfectly aligned with their wedding vision.
“We wanted a venue that was indoors, as I knew I would’ve stressed about the rain living in Florida, and something modern,” the bride explained. “We absolutely loved the aesthetic of Haus 820, and it was within an affordable price range for us. We fell in love with the space! We’re drawn to industrial buildings with history, and Haus 820 was perfect for us!”
“Kat and Alan were such a delight to work with and their wedding was absolutely stunning,” Abdiel Gonzalez, Marketing Manager at HAUS 820 added. “The wedding design and color palette were simple, bright, and elegant, and we have enjoyed sharing photos from their big day as inspiration.”
The bride’s top priority was the flowers, a meaningful choice influenced by her background in the floral industry.
“The flowers were the most important element for me. Having worked as a freelance florist for many years, it was the one detail I was especially picky about,” the bride revealed. “I wanted a wedding florist who wasn’t afraid of color and embraced a more modern design. Conveniently, Bloom Shakalaka was located right next door to Haus 820, so it was a win-win! My floral inspiration was all about fun, vibrant statement pieces. I love how simple Haus 820 is, as it allowed the florals to truly be the star of the show, especially during the ceremony.”
The bride and groom exchanged vows in a beautifully designed ceremony space featuring 17-foot-high exposed rafter ceilings, restored warehouse windows that filled the room with natural light, and original white brick walls that added a touch of character. Before 75 of their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged vows in front of pedestal decorated with vibrant floral arrangements, creating a simple yet elegant backdrop for the ceremony.
Afterwards, Kat and Alan took portraits in front of the venue’s iconic color wall, a fitting backdrop for their vibrant celebration. Guests then gathered for an indoor reception where market lights hung overhead, creating a warm, romantic atmosphere. For a playful touch, the couple served a white cake that revealed a colorful center.
“We incorporated our personalities into the wedding through color, our venue, and my favorite…our cake! ” the bride gushed. “We chose to have confetti cake, and it was a huge hit. We’re both old souls, so our music choices reflected that, with our first dance to La Vie En Rose by Louis Armstrong.”
Reflecting on all the unforgettable moments, the bride shared that one stood out above the rest.
“Having a sweetheart table was such a special moment for us,” the bride reminisced. “Initially, we were unsure about it since we didn’t want to feel separate from everyone, but it ended up being a meaningful time to share a meal together while looking out at all our loved ones celebrating with us. It was also one of the few moments we had alone during the day, which made it even more memorable.”

The Proposal:
We had a picnic at one of the first places we went on a date, and Alan proposed afterwards. It was such a special day!
