Kali and Ricky
“I’ve always loved fall colors, so rather than choosing just one, I envisioned a variety of fall tones that would complement each other, and it came together beautifully. We leaned heavily into warm oranges and neutrals without sticking to a single shade. We wanted all the colors to blend and create a cozy, inviting fall atmosphere.” -The Bride
FEATURING
Kali and Ricky’s neautral boho Lakeland wedding blended warm autumn hues, charmingly unique decor, an array of eclectic foods, and the soft glow of candlelight, creating a cozy and unforgettable celebration of love.
“I’ve always loved fall colors, so rather than choosing just one, I envisioned a variety of fall tones that would complement each other, and it came together beautifully,” the bride beamed. “We leaned heavily into warm oranges and neutrals without sticking to a single shade. We wanted all the colors to blend and create a cozy, inviting fall atmosphere.”
The Orlando couple hosted their 130-guest November wedding in Lakeland, finding a convenient location for everyone.
“We live in Orlando but we chose Lakeland because we couldn’t decide between our two favorite places, Tampa and Orlando, so we chose to be right in the middle and ended up absolutely loving the Lakeland area as well and is now a new favorite of ours!” the bride shared.
Located just 40 minutes from Tampa, Haus820, a renovated historic warehouse, set the tone for a romantic celebration with its wooden rafter ceilings, exposed brick walls, and colorblock exterior.
“We wanted an open concept, a featured bar area, and the freedom to choose our own vendors. Haus820 gave us exactly that!” Kali raved. “It checked every box on our list, providing a blank canvas where we could make every choice and bring our vision to life.”
Creating the perfect boho vibe meant embracing neutral florals and collaborating with a skilled Lakeland wedding florist to bring the vision to life. Bloom Shakalaka incorporated warm tan and orange blooms, along with intricately placed pampas grass, to craft a beautifully cohesive design.
“My florals were some of my favorite elements of our wedding. My vision was to have neutrals and oranges with some added dry elements, and Bloom Shakalaka captured that perfectly! The arrangements really brought the entire room together, and my bouquet complemented my dress and backdrop perfectly. I always knew I wanted Bloom Shakalaka; their arrangements speak for themselves,” the bride gushed. “Just a quick scroll through their portfolio, and I was sold! They captured every color scheme so perfectly! Plus, having them right next door to Haus820 was incredibly convenient; I didn’t have to worry about coordinating with an outside vendor. They were so kind and easy to work with.”
The couple valued the freedom to fully personalize their wedding, from carefully curated drink selections to a delicious variety of food stations, allowing them to showcase their creativity and personalities to the fullest.
“We’re both huge foodies, and we love a good beer or crafted cocktail, so we knew we had to go all out in those areas,” the bride revealed. “The Asian noodle station was a nod to our upcoming honeymoon in Japan. Our beer selection included brews from both of our hometowns and a local favorite. My husband is from Chicago, so we had Goose Island IPA; I’m from Maine, so including Blueberry Wheat from Sea Dog Brewing was a no-brainer, and our local favorite was Price’s Horchata from Pinellas Ale Works.”
Kali and Ricky had an unforgettable day, but what truly stood out was seeing their family and friends share in the joy of the celebration by dancing the night away.
“I speak for not just myself but all of our friends and family when I say the dancing was the most memorable moment!” the bride reminisced. “I don’t think the dance floor was every empty, everyone truly just had the best time!”
The Proposal:
We were on vacation in Seattle, Washington. We walked out to the end of one of the piers, and we had it all to ourselves! Ricky popped the question! We ended up having the best day after that, exploring the city of Seattle and enjoying a Mariners baseball game at sunset, followed by amazing cocktails at one of the best bars in Seattle. It truly was the best day!
What did you look for in a wedding venue?

We didn’t do a traditional bachelor/bachelorette party. Both of our families and a few friends spent a weekend in Boston. We all attended the Red Sox/White Sox game, as it was both of our favorite teams playing each other.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Hire a day of wedding coordinator; it was by far the best decision I made. It took away the stress of the day completely!
Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
Every single vendor exceeded our expectations! I can’t rave enough about them. Carissa, our photographer, is now officially our go-to for life! She did an absolutely phenomenal job capturing every moment of the day. Caleigh, our wedding planner, made the entire day completely stress-free and was such a joy to have around! Our caterer let us fully customize the menu, which made everything feel so personal. Bloom Shakalaka brought all of my floral dreams to life, and it was so convenient that they were located in the same building as Haus820. Our decor rental company transformed the room with their stunning decorations, and working with them was such a pleasure—they were so sweet! DJ John kept us on the dance floor all night long. Crystal, my hair and makeup artist, made sure everything stayed flawless throughout the evening and was so kind and patient throughout the process. And of course, the team at Haus820 was absolutely incredible every step of the way! They made everything effortless with their impeccable organization and attention to detail.
