Megan and Mark
The West Events
“Our wedding design inspiration was modern Italian. My husband is 100% Italian, and we love Italian culture and Italian food, so it just made sense! Our colors were neutral beiges and whites, with pops of light pink, oranges, yellows, and greens.” -The Bride
Megan and Mark’s modern Madeira Beach wedding was filled with romantic coastal charm, vibrant citrus-inspired florals, and thoughtful personal touches that brought a taste of Italy to a celebration just steps from the Florida beaches.
“Our wedding design inspiration was modern Italian,” the bride stated. “My husband is 100% Italian, and we love Italian culture and Italian food, so it just made sense! Our colors were neutral beiges and whites, with pops of light pink, oranges, yellows, and greens.”
The couple chose Madeira Beach for its perfect mix of a Florida coastal backdrop and a getaway feel without the hassle of extensive travel.
“We lived in Sarasota County at the time, and we chose this area for the wedding because we knew we wanted it to be in Florida on the beach, far enough from home to feel like a mini-getaway, yet close enough so it wasn’t a huge travel ordeal,” the bride explained.
When it came to the venue, the couple wanted a space that felt unlike anything they had ever seen before. They fell in love with The West Events after just one visit, drawn to its blend of indoor and outdoor areas, each with its own unique ambiance. Located just steps from the beach, The West Events features a bright and airy patio, a rustic yet romantic interior, and a stylish bar space, offering the versatility to create a wedding day that flowed seamlessly from one unique setting to the next for the 115-guest February celebration.
“The West Events was the first venue we toured, and the last, because we loved it that much! I loved how each area had a different feel, so it was like having three unique vibes that flowed together perfectly,” Megan gushed.
For her wedding day look, Megan wore a timeless off-the-shoulder gown that paired beautifully with her soft, natural glam hair and makeup. She turned to Femme Akoi Beauty Studio after glowing recommendations and couldn’t have been happier with the results.
“I chose a natural glam look. I chose Femme Akoi Beauty Studio because they came recommended and everyone was amazing!” the bride beamed.
Wanting their celebration to feel undeniably personal, the couple focused on creating a day that reflected who they are and what they love most.
“We wanted people to come to our wedding and think, ‘Wow, this has Meg and Mark written all over it,’ so we tied our personalities into both the small and big details. Our three main focuses were good food, good times, and great music, and we made the day uniquely ours by embracing untraditional choices and making our own rules,” the bride recalled.
While every detail of the day felt special, Megan shared that it was the feeling of being surrounded by all of their loved ones that made it unforgettable.
“I truly cannot choose just one moment. Every part of the day felt absolutely perfect,” the bride reminisced.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We will be going to Italy for our honeymoon.
Where did you host your bachelorette party?
St. Augustine, Florida, was the perfect destination for us with its amazing food, proximity to the beach, excellent wine and charming wineries, and a laid-back, relaxing vibe that’s also full of fun.

The Proposal:
Mark woke me up early and asked if I wanted to bring our dog to the beach with coffee, which is my favorite thing to do on weekends. Once we were there, he proposed, and his best friend was hiding nearby to capture the moment with photos and videos. Then, right after, he surprised me with a rooftop happy hour party and had all of our friends and family travel in to celebrate.
