Tampa Country Club Wedding | Hunter’s Green Country Club Wedding
Emily and Patrick’s classic white, ivory and champagne New Tampa country club wedding featured an outdoor, lakefront ceremony and stunning golf course backdrop.
“I wanted our wedding to be timeless and elegant,” the bride shared.
The St. Petersburg couple searched an outdoor, all-inclusive Tampa wedding venue with a view.
“We wanted an outside venue, but I did not want a beach wedding. It can be difficult to find all-inclusive venues that are not beach weddings in this part of Florida,” the bride explained. “Hunter’s Green Country Club provided us with a beautiful outdoor ceremony featuring a lake, rolling green hills and beautifully lined trees. The reception was held in a great room with floor to ceiling windows, bringing the outdoors in, making it the perfect venue for us.”
To add to the ambiance of their elegant country club wedding, Emily and Patrick wanted a Tampa wedding florist who was professional and familiar with their venue.
“Northside Florist worked wonders. In addition to all of the flowers, decor and bouquets, Kathy decorated my cake with fresh flowers, added backdrop lighting for the sweetheart table and decorated the tables. It was all gorgeous!” the bride gushed. “With just a couple of emails and a few pictures, she was able to make my wedding look exactly as I had imaged, if not better.”
Looking back, two of the bride’s most memorable moments came just before and after her wedding ceremony.
“When I think back, I am still astounded by how fast it went. I see it all in flashes, but every special moment with my husband stands out,” Emily reminisced. “Seeing his face for the first time as I walked down the aisle, holding his hands while we said our vows and after the ceremony, being alone in the reception hall for a brief moment, having those few seconds to take each other in and letting the reality sink in that we were finally married was really nice.”
What did you look for in a wedding florist?
I wanted a florist who was professional, reasonably priced and had worked with our venue before.

What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted an outside venue, but I did not want a beach wedding. It can be difficult to find all-inclusive venues that are not beach weddings in this part of Florida. I was also worried about having the ceremony and reception outdoors, for fear of Florida weather ruining all the plans.
Hunter’s Green Country Club provided us with a beautiful outdoor ceremony featuring a lake, rolling green hills and beautifully lined trees. The reception was held in a great room with floor to ceiling windows, bringing the outdoors in, making it the perfect venue for us. The venue’s coordinator, Sarah, sealed the deal for us. She was so incredibly helpful and made the vision we had for our wedding a reality.
The Proposal:
Patrick and I took a weekend trip to St. Augustine. He planned the whole weekend and booked an adorable bed and breakfast in the middle of the historic district. After spending the day walking around the town enjoying the sights, around mid-afternoon he walked me to the marina where we boarded a 60-foot sailboat for a sunset tour on the river. We saw dolphins and watched the sky turn from orange to pink to a dusky purple. When we arrived back at the marina, a historic horse-drawn carriage tour awaited. We paused under a special tree (which was actually two trees, a palm and oak, that grew into one), and legend has it that if a couple kisses under the tree, their love would be eternal.
Our final stop was a beautiful restaurant right off the river front. There were hundreds of twinkling lights draped through the trees and flowers dripping from the branches. At this point, I definitely thought something was up, but dinner was coming to an end and no proposal came, so I summed it up as just the best date ever from the most thoughtful man in the world. We were walking back to our B&B and I hadn’t noticed that we didn’t take the most direct route. Before long, we ended up back at that special tree, and I was stopped in my tracks by Patrick on one knee.
How would you describe your theme?
Simple, but elegant.
What were your colors?
Our colors were simple with shades of white, ivory and champagne. I wanted our wedding to be timeless and was worried I would look back on any bold color and regret it.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Don’t fret over the small details. Your wedding day will go by so quickly, you won’t even notice them, so focus on enjoying the person you are committing the rest of your life to.
