Downtown St. Pete Real Wedding Inspiration
Romantic Downtown St. Pete Wedding | NOVA 535 Wedding
Sarah and Ime’s downtown St. Pete wedding featured candlelight and warm lighting to create romantic atmosphere.
“[Our color’s were] navy blue, silver and ivory. We chose the blue because it reminds me of my birthstone, a sapphire, and it went well with silver and ivory.
When searching for their St. Pete wedding venue, Sarah and Ime sought out a location that was unique and unlike a traditional ceremony space.
“I feel like weddings in hotels can sometimes feel very cookie cutter and we wanted a space that was older and had a lot of charm. A space that didn’t need a lot of additional decorating,” the bride explained. “We loved the brick walls and beautiful wood floors at NOVA 535. We also liked that it had a very nice bar, and their service was amazing!
As for their choosing a downtown St. Pete wedding caterer, value and customization were a priority.
“We wanted our menu to be simple, where everyone could enjoy it and find something that they like,” Sarah said. “The pricing with Olympia Catering worked out very well for us. We had a couple of appetizers that reflected our own personal likes, bacon cheeseburger sliders for my husband and buffalo chicken dip for me!”

The couple’s classic and elegant four-tiered white, lemon wedding cake with custard filling and buttercream icing was a hit with guests.
“I wanted our cake to also be very simple and romantic, yet delicious, which it was!”
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted a space that was older and had a lot of charm and didn’t need a lot of additional decorating because we didn’t want to spend a lot on decorations and flowers. NOVA 535 is such a beautiful space that it does not need a lot of embellishments!
We loved the brick walls and beautiful wood floors. We also liked that it had a very nice bar, and their service was amazing! Ruby, the day of coordinator, was so awesome; she answered all my crazy questions and ensured that we had a wonderful night. The whole staff at NOVA was very accommodating and just a pleasure to work with.
How would you describe your theme?
Soft and romantic. I wouldn’t say we had a true theme, but I wanted lots of candle light, warm romantic feel.
What were your colors?
Navy blue, silver, and ivory. We chose the blue because it reminds me of my birthstone, sapphire, and it went well with silver and ivory. They seemed like nice colors for the holidays, as we got married a couple weeks before Christmas.

Traditional Downtown St. Pete Wedding | Carrie Wildes Photography
Jessica and Steven just happened to live a few miles north of the their downtown St. Pete wedding venue. The bride grew up in St. Pete, the city where the pair fell in love, bought a house and now, build their future together.
The couple’s traditional wedding incorporated soft, romantic details with personal touches.
“I wanted something that I could look back on and not regret following any trends. I wanted a wedding that was timeless, classic and represented us well as a couple,” Jessica explained.
The downtown St. Pete bride and groom chose a blush and charcoal color palette, blush to signify springtime and charcoal to add a masculine touch.
With traditional wedding photography in mind, Jessica and Steve searched for a downtown St. Pete wedding photographer who could put them at ease.
“Carrie of Carrie Wildes Photography and her entire team made us feel so comfortable, despite the million and one things going on during the wedding planning process. Linda (our photographer) never put us in weird poses or made us feel like we were trying to be someone we’re not. She represented who we are as a couple, which was extremely important for us,” Jessica gushed.

Looking back, the most important wedding day element for Jessica and Steve was the love and support of their guests.
“The people who were there is what I’m going to remember most. We were surrounded by all of our friends and loved ones on one of the most important days of our lives, and that meant so much to us,” the bride reminisced.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
We wanted very classic, traditional photos without too much editing or special effects. I wanted the pictures to accurately depict our wedding day, which goes by so quickly! We also wanted someone who put us at ease throughout the entire process.
