“Best of” 2022: Wedding Receptions

1920’s Gatsby Inspired Vintage Boho Wedding Inspiration | Whitehurst Gallery

“I have always loved the Gatsby era. There’s just something about the fashion, the cars, and the sophisticated charm that drew me in. As soon as I decided to add a historical element to this shoot, the 1920's were my first choice,” Lara Vincent, wedding planner at Confetti Events & Weddings, detailed. “I decided to keep the colors for this shoot as simple as possible, white and gold. I did this in order to highlight the features inside the ballroom at the Whitehurst Gallery. I felt that if we added more color, it would take away from the simple elegance of the venue.”

Neutral Boho Beach Sarasota Wedding | Resort at Longboat Key Club

The couple's guests entered a boho garden paradise with hanging rattan chandeliers, white tablescapes lit by romantic candles, and decorative wicker chargers topped with sage napkins. The sweetheart table was surrounded by white florals and decorated with regal, wicker peacock chairs.

“I chose white, green, and dusty rose florals because I wanted dried flowers, plants, and palm fronds to keep on theme,” the bride share. “The theme was boho, but sort of bougie, because that's my vibe.”

Vibrant Pink and Dusty Blue South Tampa Wedding | Hyde House

“We didn't really go into planning with a theme. There were certain elements we both wanted and made sure to prioritize those. Darrian wanted a blue suit and I wanted gorgeous flowers and table settings,” the bride shared. “We didn't go with a specific color scheme. We chose elements we liked and made the aesthetic work as a whole.”

“We were really looking for a space that was open and had good energy. We had been following the progress of Hyde House, but it wasn't completed when we originally chose our venue. After our original venue went under due to COVID, we were afforded the opportunity to have our wedding at Hyde House,” Gabrielle beamed. “The service was excellent. I loved that they had parking for our guests and the staff was professional and fun!”

Romantic Clearwater Boho Wedding | Belleview Inn

“Our theme had some bohemian touches mixed with traditional. Our wedding planners and vendors really put together a beautiful experience that spoke to both of us.” the bride explained. “Our colors were navy blueburgundy, and gold. Because the wedding was in the winter, we wanted rich, warm colors.”

“We are both pretty laid back. Our personalities really came through in our vows and the overall theme of an easy-going evening,” Allison shared. “We wanted to have really good food and a relaxing enjoyable evening, while also enabling our guests to feel safe during the pandemic.”

Luxurious Pink and Emerald Downtown St. Pete Wedding | Vinoy Renaissance

“I always imagined an elegant black-tie wedding. I wanted our wedding to have a romantic, fun feeling while still elegant. I love flowers so having a lot of florals was very important,” the bride explained. “Our colors were pink, blush, orangeemerald, and gold. I love bright flowers, and the emerald green and gold lifted them up a notch so our wedding could keep the formality. Our hotel was also pink, so it all went together nicely.”

“We really focused on the experience of our guests. We wanted everyone to feel welcomed and be entertained and elements that were unique to our wedding. I was looking for a wedding planner who was professional and honest and someone who had experience in the local industry,” the bride shared. “Having a wedding planner that has good relationships with the vendors in the area is so important, especially when you have to move your wedding because of a pandemic. I really liked Jessica’s wedding portfolio, vision, and ability to speak her mind. We were really happy with the service.”

Luxurious Destination Courtyard Sarasota Wedding | Ringling Museum

“I have been coming to Sarasota since I was born. I have always wanted to get married down here, so when it came time, I knew Sarasota was it. My parents now live on Longboat Key, which made the planning so much easier!” the bride shared. “I wanted our wedding to have a dramatic yet chic vibe. The Ringling is such a grand venue that I wanted the décor to mimic that and bring in the modern glam. Chad and I both have modern taste, and I have always been all about the glam. We stuck with neutral tones. The flowers were all white with touches of big greensGold was our accent color, and the chairs that we got were so stunning it really tied in the whole look!”

“The location [made our wedding unique]. Most of our guests had never been to the Ringling Museum before, so that was really cool,” the bride revealed.

Luxurious Outdoor Tented Sarasota Wedding | Powel Crosley Estate

“I'd describe our wedding theme as a mix between classic and tropical. We chose it because we like clean, classic styles, but we also wanted to add some fun tropical touches because of the scenery at our venue,” the bride shared. “We included a lot of whites, neutrals, and greenery and then some pops of color in the table floral arrangements which had pink and peach tropical flowers. I've always loved mixing metals, so we included both gold and silver touches in the decor.”

“We took a little bit of a different approach to the reception meal. We both love food, and we wanted to make sure our guests had plenty of options to choose from. We decided to do food stations inspired by our heritage to add a personal touch to our wedding meal. I'm Persian and Italian, and Chris is Italian and Irish, so we did a station with Middle Eastern cuisine, an Italian station, and an Irish-inspired station. We wanted the dinner to still feel formal, so we did a plated salad course,” Alyssa detailed. “The other unique element was our wedding favors, which was a custom-made hot sauce. We picked the ingredients and made sure the bottles were 3oz so guests could fly with them (and we got great feedback from our guests that they loved the hot sauce)!”

Luxurious, Pink, Southern, Tented Clearwater Wedding Belleview Inn

“The first time I toured the property, I noticed a lot of flowers in different shades of pink and red around the hotel. I felt it was important to incorporate the natural beauty as our wedding was going to be outside in a tent. The hotel is historic and classically southern. I wanted to incorporate both the classic architecture and the natural color around the Inn,” the bride shared. “I chose different shades of pink, from light to bright. We also used vintage-inspired blue and white vases. I've always loved these vases, and the color combination with the pink was both elegant and fun!”
