Colorful Ybor City Wedding Inspo
J.C. Newman Cigar
“We wanted to bring color and vibrance into Cigar Worker’s Park. While we love the muted tones that have been popular lately, we wanted to show how you can bring life to your wedding with rentals and florals that pop! We predominately chose oranges and pinks. These colors were a beautiful contrast against the neutral tones of the space.” -Tiffany Haas, Event and Community Partnership Coordinator at J.C. Newman
FEATURING
Inspired by the vibrant heritage and culture in Tampa’s famed ‘Cigar City’ neighborhood, this colorful Ybor City styled-shoot embraced bright jewel tones and various textures for an eclectic design that felt fresh, fun, and fit for the Florida heat.
“We wanted to bring color and vibrance into Cigar Worker’s Park. While we love the muted tones that have been popular lately, we wanted to show how you can bring life to your wedding with rentals and florals that pop!” Tiffany Haas, Event and Community Partnership Coordinator at J.C. Newman, shared. “We predominately chose oranges and pinks. These colors were a beautiful contrast against the neutral tones of the space.”
The historic setting of the J.C. Newman Cigar building and the new outdoor space created the ideal backdrop for the whimsical event. The charm of the brick exterior and unique rooftop made for stunning sunset photographs, while the natural park surroundings were perfect for hosting an al fresco celebration.
“J.C. Newman is a blank slate with historic elements,” Tiffany beamed. “Any wedding theme works in our space. From vintage romance to bright and airy, J.C. Newman is the perfect backdrop for your love story.”
The talented team of designers at Save The Date Florida injected the space with bright blooms in cheerful pink and orange hues while also crafting a custom backdrop of geometric shapes in coordinating shades of fuchsia and persimmon.
“By using bright, summery florals, we were able to showcase J.C. Newman’s new outdoor setup. We chose gorgeous blooms such as hot pink peonies, ranunculus, roses, stock, and other additions to pull everything together,” Danielle Zechmann, owner of Save The Date Florida Wedding and Event Floral Design, detailed. “The flowers on the fountain really brought the feature to life, and I loved the detailed placement of the petals on the aisle. It made such a statement and really made that area pop with color.”
Thanks to the hair and makeup artists at Lasting Luxe Artistry, the bride donned a chic, low-chignon hairstyle with delicate face-framing curls for a classic look. The floral embroidered lace gown from Truly Forever Bridal flattered her silhouette with timeless elegance. Wedding content creators Behind The Vows captured social media video content, while Amber McWhorter Photography and She and He Productions were on hand to document all of the stunning details, from the decorative elements to the beauty and chemistry of the couple.
“This shoot is a love letter to Florida and the city of Ybor,” Tiffany beamed. “We are proud to showcase the rich history combined with new energy coming back into the area. This city has seen so many love stories over the years, and we are excited to continue the tradition. Amber McWhorter Photography was so fun to work with. We love professional creatives who can capture the essence of our vision!”
“The park at J.C. Newman is an adorable spot for a wedding. It is set in old historic Ybor, so you get those beautiful red brick accents. The team that worked on the styled shoot was perfect in bringing the venue to life. The bright colors of the decor, florals, and furniture made the park come to life,” Amber McWhorter raved. “My favorite elements to capture within the park were a mix of having the models near the fountain, the greenery, and the brick. There was a nice mix of areas, and the lighting hit beautifully in the park in the afternoons.”
