Lakeland Garden Wedding
Alyse and Nicholas’ Lakeland garden wedding featured timeless colors of black and white with splashes of pastels.
“We chose a simple black and white color palette with pink and peachy flowers,” Alyse explained. “Everything was pretty classic in a way, but with softer romantic touches in the eucalyptus leaves, mercury glass and garden roses all throughout the ceremony and reception.”
The Lakeland couple searched for a wedding caterer who could provide not only delicious food, but also present it beautifully.
“We loved how professional Olympia Catering was, that they’ve been in business a long time and that they were well-known and recommended Their food presentation was beautiful and all of the food tasted amazing!” Alyse gushed.

To balance their serious ceremony, the couple wanted a reception that reflected their fun side, with guests dancing the night away, and hired Grant Hemond and Associates.
“I wanted current music but also music from different eras that everyone would enjoy dancing to,” the bride explained. “I looked for a DJ who would play what I wanted, but also be able to fill in any gaps I missed. Even after talking to Jason Tally [of Grant Hemond and Associates] for the first time, I knew he would be great! He has a great personality, high energy and was really excited to DJ for our wedding.”

The Proposal:
Nick and I were in New York City with my parents, and we had planned to meet our friend in Brooklyn. When we got to the Towers building in Brooklyn, he took us up to the roof. Nick and I love French and want to learn it together one day, and while on the roof, he said he learned a new French saying, “Veux-tu m’épouser?,” which means “Will you marry me?” He got down on one knee and asked, “Alyse will you marry me?”

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Don’t sweat the small things because there’s always hiccups during the day. Just enjoy the day and don’t let it rush by because it really goes by very fast.

Megan and Nathan’s nautical inspired Tampa garden wedding featured DIY details, vibrant colors and personal touches. The Tampa Bay couple love the outdoors and wanted to share their enthusiasm for being on the water during their summer wedding.
“We really wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our style and personality as a couple and my husband’s love of fishing and the outdoors,” the bride explained. “We even used our personal canoe to hold our guests cold beverages.”
To complement their outdoor garden ceremony, the bride opted for vibrant floral bouquets from Tampa wedding florist Apple Blossoms Floral Design.
“I wanted a big, beautiful bouquet as it would be featured in all of our wedding photos,” Megan explained. “Scott from Apple Blossoms created all of the bouquets for myself and my four bridesmaids, as well as the mother and grandmother corsages. He is very creative, took my direction and ran with it. I wanted to incorporate succulents in my bouquet, and he did a fantastic job. ”

What did you look for in a wedding florist?
I wanted a big, beautiful bouquet as it would be featured in all of our wedding photos.
After meeting with Scott from Apple Blossoms Floral Design, his enthusiasm and passion were evident, and I knew he was the perfect choice. Scott created all of the bouquets for myself and my four bridesmaids, as well as the mother and grandmother corsages. He is very creative and took my direction and ran with it. I wanted to incorporate succulents in my bouquet, and he did a fantastic job.
How would you describe your theme?
The theme ended up being one of rustic romance. We really wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our style and personality as a couple, and wanted to include my husband’s love of fishing and the outdoors. We even used our personal canoe to hold our guest’s cold beverages.
What were your colors?
Bright and bold. I knew I wanted my bridesmaids in a deep, sunset orange and the groomsmen wore turquoise in contrast. We also had pops of pink in our bouquets, yellow in the aisle flowers, boutonnieres, and decorative porch arrangements, varying shades of green and lavender in our home-grown succulent table arrangements and brightly painted place settings. I’m not afraid of color and the pops of color were perfect against the water for our sprightly summer wedding!
