Located adjacent to Tampa Bay’s most upscale mall, the Renaissance Tampa International Plaza is a hidden gem of a wedding venue offering modern flair and contemporary decor that brings together its vibrant surroundings for both indoor and outdoor celebrations.
While the Renaissance Tampa boasts a traditional ballroom, we chose to highlight the hotel’s unique and vibrant event space with the help of wedding planner Katy Turchich of Coastal Coordinating in this styled wedding shoot.
“The inside space was a perfect backdrop to transform to anything that you want. I wanted to soften the bold colors of the venue and showcase how lighter romantic colors could really work well with the bold colors,” Katy explained.

The wedding planner and designer chose a muted color palette of dusty blue, grey, blush, peach, and silver as to not to compete with the boldness of the reception space. To add to the romanticism, decor rental company and florist Gabro Event Services added French country chairs, custom velvet linens, greenery and peach filled florals, and a show-stopping draped sweetheart table.
“My inspiration was to bring a soft, upscale garden look inside and showcase how alternative wedding spaces can be transformed into a romantic feel. I loved how it really softened the room,” Katy beamed.

Silver accents on the three-tiered wedding cake with marble swirls from Alessi Bakeries perfectly complemented the decor, while small, but impactful details such as the geometric acrylic place cards added a luxurious touch.
The couple dazzled in their attire from Nikki’s Glitz and Glam Bridal Boutique; the bride’s lace Calla Blanche wedding dress featured a plunging neckline and sheer side panels adding a hint of allure. Hair and makeup artists Destiny & Light Hair and Makeup Group chose a smokey eye and half updo to showcase the bride’s flowing long curls.

Bringing the romantic elements to the Renaissance’s outdoor courtyard, Gabro Event Services created a flowing draped arch providing a statement piece for the ceremony backdrop.
“The outside area is the perfect setting for the romantic ceremony. There is a natural breeze that makes you feel like you are at a destination location,” Katy gushed. “The blowing of the draping helped to create the romantic look.”
Tampa Bay wedding videographer Resurgent Fire Films captured the flowy breeze and gorgeous Florida day, while Carrie Wildes of Carrie Wildes Photography utilized every backdrop and statement wall at the venue resulting in gorgeous one-of-a-kind portraits.
“I love that there are so many different styles of places to shoot all on one property,” Carrie shared. “There’s the colorful tile and fountains, hallways with huge windows and amazing light. Outside there are archways and both dark and moody stairwells, plus the big stairwell that leads to International Plaza. Literally, there’s a look for so many types and styles of wedding!”
