Caitlin and Matthew’s timeless Clearwater Beach wedding welcomed 120 guests for an elegant rooftop celebration that perfectly balanced coastal beauty with a refined aesthetic. The design featured a classic palette of crisp white blooms, lush greenery, black accents, and subtle gold accents, allowing the venue’s soft pink exterior and sweeping Gulf views to serve as a natural pop of color. Romantic floral arrangements added texture and softness throughout the space, while black glassware, flatware, and chargers brought a modern, sophisticated contrast to the November celebration. Personalized details and a high-energy atmosphere reflected the couple’s fun-loving personalities, creating a celebration that felt both polished and unforgettable.
“The mirror aisle was the most important detail for me. I had only ever seen it on Pinterest and never in person, so creating something unique and breathtaking was a dream come true. It ended up being one of the best decisions we made,” the bride revealed. “We wanted our reception space to feel distinct, so we incorporated black glassware, flatware, and chargers, giving the ballroom a stylish, unexpected look.”
The Bach Party & Honeymoon
“I hosted my bachelorette party in Las Vegas. I had dreamed of celebrating there since I was 18, and it was everything I hoped for—pool parties, shopping, shows, and nonstop fun. It was the perfect party destination for a girls’ trip.
We decided not to take a honeymoon because we are currently building a home. We chose to put our resources and wedding gifts toward that exciting next chapter.”

The Proposal
“Matt proposed after a 10-mile hike in Colorado. When we reached the top of the mountain overlooking a lake, he got down on one knee. People below saw the proposal and began cheering! His best friend and girlfriend were in on the surprise and had even packed champagne for us to celebrate at the summit. It was incredibly special.”

Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach
“We live in Tampa, so we wanted a destination that was close to home while still offering a special experience for our guests. We hoped to find a venue where we could host the ceremony and reception and provide on-site accommodations. Clearwater Beach also holds sentimental value, as my grandparents vacationed there frequently, so choosing this location felt like a meaningful way to honor their memory. I wanted a venue that felt unique, offered beautiful outdoor views, and allowed us to celebrate in the open air. Being outside was important to both of us, and we wanted something other than a standard ballroom or conference space.
I initially fell in love with the Hyatt Clearwater Beach for its stunning rooftop terrace. The moment I stepped into the ceremony space, I knew it was the right place. What truly sealed the decision was the staff’s kindness and professionalism. I happened to stop by on a Saturday while Cassie, the lead planner, was setting up for another wedding, and she graciously walked me through the layout and details. The view was spectacular, but the level of service throughout the planning process was even better.”

It ended up being one of the best decisions we made. We incorporated a 50-foot mirror aisle to elevate the venue’s beautiful Sky Terrace in a way no one had done before. The reflection of the sky made it feel as though we were walking on water—truly magical.
We envisioned a lively, upbeat celebration that reflected our fun and positive personalities. A full dance floor was a top priority—and we achieved that! We also incorporated personal touches such as a custom crossword puzzle at cocktail hour with clues about our relationship, cocktail napkins featuring our dogs, and tooth-themed drink stirrers as a playful nod to meeting in dental school.

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
All of our vendors were truly incredible, professional, and a joy to work with. If I had to highlight two standouts, it would be Tampa Bay DJ Company (Cory) and Blue Skies Planning (Heather). They were instrumental in creating what many guests described as the best wedding they’ve ever attended.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
The wedding planning process may get stressful and be overwhelming (even with a planner), but when that wedding day comes, it is all worthwhile. It was truly the best day of my entire life.
