“I chose all white flowers so the view of the ocean would remain the focal point, and the bridesmaids wore sage green to keep everything soft, natural, and elegant. We love sushi, so we asked if it could be displayed in a curved shape, like a wave, to reflect our style and the oceanfront setting. Our venue went above and beyond, creating custom curved tables just for the display, and it turned out absolutely incredible.” – The Bride
Morgan and Trey’s elegant Sarasota wedding was a breathtaking beachfront celebration filled with timeless white florals and natural, coastal-inspired details that reflected the couple’s laid-back yet refined style.
“I chose all white flowers so the view of the ocean would remain the focal point, and the bridesmaids wore sage green to keep everything soft, natural, and elegant,” the bride explained. “We love sushi, so we asked if it could be displayed in a curved shape, like a wave, to reflect our style and the oceanfront setting. Our venue went above and beyond, creating custom curved tables just for the display, and it turned out absolutely incredible.”
The local bride and groom chose to host their October wedding in Sarasota, as it allowed them to stay close to home while embracing the beauty of Florida’s Gulf Coast. The Resort at Longboat Key Club was the perfect setting for the couple’s romantic waterfront wedding, combining elegance with laid-back luxury and impeccable service.
“We wanted an outdoor venue on the water. We chose The Resort at Longboat Key Club because we wanted a beach wedding and also a venue that allowed sushi,” the bride detailed. “The resort did an incredible job! Our wedding was the first wedding after Hurricane Milton and Helene, so we were very nervous about what it would look like. They had employees fly to Florida to help clean up the venue, and we would have never known there had been a hurricane; it looked incredible.”
Surrounded by 170 guests, Morgan and Trey exchanged vows on the white sand beach with waves crashing in the background. They stood in front of a gold circular arch decorated with greenery and white flowers, a simple yet striking focal point against the coastline. The setting was clean, modern, and natural, allowing the scenery to create a show-stopping backdrop.
The reception took place in a spacious white tent, illuminated by string lights and warm wicker accents that added a relaxed, coastal feel. Crisp white linens covered the tables, paired with gold chiavari chairs and lush arrangements of white florals and greenery. At the center of it all, a black and white square dance floor created a bold focal point where guests gathered to celebrate late into the night.
The entire event was beautifully captured by Limelight Photography, whose relaxed, joyful approach made the entire experience feel effortless.
“We were looking for a photographer who wasn’t too serious and would let us have fun. I thought taking photos might feel awkward, but we actually had the best time,” the bride raved. “Limelight Photography did such a great job. The pictures they captured on the beach were fun and lighthearted. My favorite is the group shot of all of us jumping.”
“Morgan and Trey’s wedding was a breathtaking celebration of elegance, love, and pure joy—a perfect reflection of their vibrant personalities,” Dafne Spencer, Limelight Photography photographer, recalled. “One of my favorite parts of the day was their stunning beachfront ceremony. With the soft sound of the waves and a clear blue sky as their backdrop, it was truly picture-perfect. Capturing the bridal party on the beach was an absolute dream. Everyone’s energy was electric, and their playful spirit brought so much life to each shot. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.”
The couple ensured their wedding was not only beautiful but also deeply personal, incorporating thoughtful details that reflected their personalities and favorite things. With guidance from her mom, who used Marry Me Tampa Bay for planning support, the bride brought her unique vision to life. Guests were welcomed with custom green sunglasses, a nod to the groom’s business, while the couple opted out of a reception tradition in favor of something that felt more “them.”
“We opted out of a cake cutting and did a ‘first sushi bite’ together instead, as this is our favorite food,” the bride beamed. “The food was most important. We had crab rangoons as a cocktail hour appetizer because we love sushi and Chinese food, and I was really excited for this. We also only drink High Noon, so we requested our favorite—Pineapple and Peach!”
“Morgan and Trey had such a beautiful setup, but what stood out the most was their completely custom menu,” Ayla Goggin, Director of Events and Catering at The Resort at Longboat Key Club, detailed. “They love sushi and Asian cuisine, so every station reflected that. They even had custom chopsticks with their wedding date at each place setting, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. It was amazing to see the things that make them unique as a couple shine through every detail.”
One of the most unforgettable parts of the day was the high energy and excitement created by the live music, incredible food, and breathtaking setting.
“The most memorable moments were the sushi, the live band, and the venue!” the bride reminisced. “We had a 10-piece band, and they truly made the night unforgettable. They interacted with the crowd, brought so much energy, and their voices were absolutely incredible.”
