Jessica and Mike’s South Tampa wedding paid homage to the bride’s eye for classic beauty and timeless detail.
Before exchanging vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony in historic Ybor City, the bride shared an intimate first look with her father captured by Tampa wedding photographer Andi Diamond Photography.
“Hiring Andi Diamond as our wedding photographer was one of our best decisions!” the bride gushed. “From our engagement shoot to our wedding, Andi was absolutely amazing! Not only were our photographs incredible and super original, but she was easy to work with.”
The couple’s Tampa wedding day was filled with emotion, yet the bride’s makeup still remained flawless.
“The entire morning was filled with laughs, love, some bubbles and of course, some happy tears. My father, who I am extremely close with, and I did a first look. It was such a special moment and very emotional,” Jessica shared. “Thank goodness Lindsay Does Makeup was still there because we all needed touch-ups after!”
The classic ivory color palette was incorporated throughout the entire event. An impressive seating chart guided guests to their tables on the rooftop terrace, where feasting tables were set beneath shady pavilions in preparation for a five-course meal. Mirrored table runners boasted silver candlesticks and wood hedge boxes of bountiful flora, with towering loose arrangements accented the head table and the bride and groom’s plush tufted love seat.
Looking back one of the bride’s most memorable moments occurred on the way to the wedding ceremony.
“Our drive to the church, which in reality was about 15 minutes, felt like a lifetime. I was happy to have that alone time with my parents and really soak in the moment,” Jessica reminisced. “When the church doors opened, so did my tear gates. Seeing my future husband standing at the altar was surreal. It was the moment we wait our entire lives for and when it happens, there is no describing the feeling.”
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
Hiring Andi Diamond as our wedding photographer was one of our best decisions. From our engagement shoot to our wedding, Andi was absolutely amazing! Not only were our photographs incredible and super original, but she was easy to work with. We loved how fun Andi is, and how she made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. If I ever had a question, I would have a response in minutes, she is really that quick! The teaser Andi sent us was absolutely stunning, she captured our wedding day perfectly! Andi will be a lifelong friend and will certainly be our first call for future events!
The day Michael proposed was anything but glamorous! He took me to the Oxford Exchange where we had our first date. I was wearing gym shorts, no makeup and had my hair in a very messy ponytail. There was an hour wait, and I insisted we leave and go somewhere else. After a quick discussion with the hostess we were quickly seated (later I found out that Mike begged her to seat us because he was planning on proposing). We had just received our appetizer, and I was not even paying attention. When I looked up Mike had tears in his eyes; I literally thought he had bit into something spicy! Even after he asked me to marry him and pulled out the ring I was in complete shock; I couldn’t believe what was happening. After accepting and getting all of our happy tears out, he confessed that he wanted me to be 100% surprised, and he knew if he had planned anything, I would have known what he was up to. He isn’t much of a planner, but in the end it was perfect!
What was your theme?
I envisioned my wedding as timeless and classic. I wanted feasting tables with groupings of different arrangements and lots of candles. I loved having the wedding under the tent with string lightning! The head table was a farm table, and Mike and I sat at a love seat. It was perfect; we could look out and see all of our guests.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Hire an event planner. Our event planner was the best decision we made. Every vendor she recommended was terrific and matched our vision perfectly. There is really so much that goes into planning your big day, regardless of how organized you may be it can be overwhelming!
