Braygon and Ricky's downtown St. Pete wedding was a summertime bash filled with chic décor, sharp style, and an edgy motorcycle exit. Playing off a boho-chic-inspired design, the bride and groom chose a mixture of earthy tones, natural wood, and greenery along with a mauve, ivory, beige, and gold color palette.
“My husband and I have entirely different styles. I love the comfy/cozy boho feel as opposed to my husband’s love for the modern and sleek look. We incorporated elements of nature with a neutral color palette and a touch of classic black for a romantic, elegant feel,” the bride detailed. “I dreamed of an earthy, boho-chic style with a touch of macrame, custom signage, and lush and textured florals.”
The Tampa couple hosted their 75-guest wedding in downtown St. Pete to be close to the water and to tie in the nostalgia of where they had their first date. Red Mesa Events' rooftop ceremony space and exposed brick ballroom offered a blank canvas feel that allowed the couple to merge their style choices.
“We chose St. Petersburg as our wedding destination because we love being by the water. One of our very first dates was spent downtown in St. Pete, and since then we have continued to make memories, with our wedding being the best one yet!” the bride revealed. “I wanted an elegant space with natural lighting, and once I stepped into the ballroom at Red Mesa, I knew it was the one!”
Braygon understood the importance of hiring a seasoned wedding planner and looked to Breezin' Weddings for their month-of services. With Breezin's extensive repertoire of events at their venue, it made the final weeks leading up to the wedding stress-free.
“Choosing a wedding planner is a big deal! I wanted someone with great energy and previous experience coordinating events at the wedding venue I chose,” the bride shared. “I originally spoke with Jessie of Breezin' Weddings, and she was very informative about their services and wedding planning in general. As we got closer to my wedding date, Anna took over and was a significant help throughout the entire process. Four weeks prior to the wedding, Anna and I had a consultation to run through details, and she took over communication with my vendors. On our wedding day, Anna went above and beyond, and our wedding day was absolutely perfect!”
One of the bride's favorite personal touches were her custom-crafted napkins rings that she designed and created.
“I turned my macrame hobby into a small business a couple years ago and with all the love and support I have received from my friends and family, I knew I wanted to incorporate a personalized macrame touch to pair perfectly with my boho-chic wedding theme,” the bride detailed. “After pondering countless ideas, I landed on macrame napkin rings. They added an earthy textural element to each table setting, paired beautifully with the entire aesthetic, and were a fun keepsake for my guests! I can tell my guests loved them too because they were all gone by the end of the night!”
The couple's July ballroom ceremony overlooked the streets of downtown St. Pete, while the romantic reception was flipped during cocktail hour. The night ended downstairs as the bride and groom took off in an epic exit.
“My husband is a motorcycle enthusiast. He custom builds and professionally paints Harleys for a living, and I couldn’t think of a better bride and groom exit than us riding into the night on the back of his Harley. As we exited the reception and made our way down the stairs to the alley, we walked through a tunnel of sparklers and rode into our happily ever after as Mr. and Mrs. Richter!” Braygon gushed. “We thought it was super important our guests left our big day thinking how well it represented us, and we still get compliments on how well we let our personalities shine, which feels amazing!”
While the couple enjoy celebrating with their guests, their private first look was one of their most iconic moments of the day.
“Our wedding day was one of the most incredible and magical days of our lives. Spending time with our closest family, friends, and, most importantly, each other are memories we will cherish forever. Our most memorable moment was the private getaway to the rooftop just minutes before the ceremony, where there were no people and no distractions,” the bride reminisced. “Our amazing photographer, captured the raw, intimate moment between my husband and me as I whispered his name, and he turned around to see me for the first time on our wedding day. With all the nerves and emotions leading up to the ceremony, this special moment where we were able to kiss and share a laugh was exactly what we needed before we tied the knot. I will never forget how devilishly handsome my husband looked and the way he admired my beauty in that moment.”

How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?

We’ve done a great job blending our personalities in our home, and I wanted to do just that for our wedding day! We incorporated elements of nature with a neutral color palette and a touch of classic black for a romantic, elegant feel. I dreamed of an earthy, boho-chic style with a touch of macrame, custom signage, and lush and textured florals. My bouquet was filled with various textures and included white and mauve roses, fresh green and bleached Italian Ruscus, eucalyptus, natural pampas, and bunny tails.
What were your colors?
I absolutely love the color mauve and chose to incorporate it with warm shades of ivory, cream, beige, and hints of gold. The mixture of earthy tones, natural wood, and greenery from my local florist blended perfectly with my boho-chic theme.
My bridesmaids wore mismatched floor-length mauve dresses, and groomsmen wore classic black suits. Each table was draped with sandy beige linen tablecloths and accented with rustic gold chargers, mocha brown linen napkins, and my handcrafted macrame napkin rings. In the center, tall glass vases with floating candles and gold votives were surrounded by fresh Italian Ruscus, eucalyptus, and white roses. The neutral color palette, exposed brick walls, and natural lighting made the venue look elegant while adding a light and airy feeling to the space.
