Jenna and Kevin’s waterfront Clearwater Beach wedding featured a jeweled tone color palette of emerald, midnight, and amethyst, and whimsical inspired decor.
“It was very important for me to have a unique wedding. I did not want to have the ‘cookie cutter’ wedding,” the bride explained. “I searched a lot on Pinterest and the internet, and after a lot of back and forth, I decided on jewel tones. I didn’t see much of that going on in the wedding industry, so I knew I would stand out as unique and different.”
The bride knew from the beginning that she would need guidance from a Clearwater Beach wedding planner to make her wedding day dreams come true. Turning to the experts, Jenna hired the dream makers of Special Moments Event Planning.
“I have known Tammy, the owner of Special Moments Event Planning, for years. I completely trusted her and wouldn’t have been able to stay sane or have my vision come to life without her,” the bride shared. “She helped me choose all the vendors, and especially helped me stay within our budget. She knew how important it was for me to feel like I didn’t have the same wedding as everyone else and came up with awesome ideas.”

To create a unique three-tiered wedding cake fit for the couple who adores chocolate, they hired A Piece of Cake. The luxe deep purple textured linens was the perfect complement to make their dessert creation stand out.
“My husband and I are huge chocolate lovers, and it was important to me to have a cake that was different from any other wedding cakes,” Jenna explained. “When I met with Laurie from A Piece of Cake, she was so excited to work with us, because she doesn’t do typical cakes. She also had amazing popcorn that I knew I wanted at my wedding as well.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
I have known Tammy, the owner of Special Moments Event Planning, for years. I already had made up in my mind that I wanted her help and guidance with my wedding. I completely trusted her and wouldn’t have been able to stay sane or have my vision come to life without her.

Tammy helped me choose all the vendors, and especially helped me stay within our budget. She knew how important it was for me to feel like I didn’t have the same wedding as everyone else and came up with awesome ideas. Petra and Katie of Special Moments were also a huge help. One of the planners even had to run to the hotel during the ceremony because I forgot my husband’s ring in my hotel room!
The Proposal:
I always told Jenna that I would never propose to her on a holiday, as it too cliche, and it wouldn’t be a surprise! I’ve been going with that for about nine years now, so at this point that is the last thing she would expect! Valentine’s Day was quickly approaching, and I was hoping that the ring would be done by Valentine’s Day. Our favorite Italian restaurant just happened to reopen right next door to us. We hadn’t been there in years and when Jenna saw it, she called and made reservations for Valentine’s Day. I picked up the ring from the jeweler that morning, went to the restaurant and spoke with the manager to let them know what my plans were for that evening. They agreed to have flowers on the table when we got there. Now, anybody who knows me, knows what a procrastinator I am! This was no different. When we arrived, I thought to myself “Should I just do it now? Should I wait until after dinner when we were walking out?” I didn’t know what I was going to do!
We were about to get to dessert when I excused myself to the bathroom. In the lobby, they had this huge vase of long stem roses. I grabbed one and when I walked back to the table, I said, ‘Hey babe I got you a rose.’ When I let go of it, my hand uncovered the ring at the top, and the ring slid down the stem from the top of the rose and landed right in her hand. She looked at it, and kept repeating ‘Omg, omg this isn’t real, this isn’t happening!’ She didn’t know what was going on! I got down on one knee, and I asked her, ‘Will you marry me?’ Needless to say, it was a surprise, and if you know Jenna, she has never been surprised! I must say asking Jenna to marry me was one of the most satisfying and enjoyable moments in my life! I highly suggest every man does it at least once!
How would you describe your theme?
It was very important for me to have a unique wedding. I did not want to have the ‘cookie cutter’ wedding, which at the time was a shabby chic, blush barn wedding. I also didn’t want to have a typical beach wedding either. The original plan was to have a destination wedding in Hawaii, but due to logistics for family members, we decided to have it here locally. I searched a lot on Pinterest and the internet, and after a lot of back and forth, I decided on jewel tones. I didn’t see much of that going on in the wedding industry, so I knew I would stand out as unique and different.
What were your colors?
