Jill and Drew’s vibrant St. Pete Beach wedding featured a nautical inspired theme with a modern twist and bohemian details. The bride and groom chose bright accent colors in pink and tangerine that popped against the navy and grey bridal party attire.
“I wanted the ladies to be able to wear their dresses again, so I selected a classic color. I also wanted the flowers to be bright and add color to the day! Drew loves the color orange (because he loves University of Tennessee football), so I this represented in the flowers for him,” Jill explained. “My bouquet was incredible and we received so many compliments on the flowers. We loved the vibe of our unique venue and wanted some bohemian elements also.”

The Tampa bride knew exactly what she wanted when it came to hiring a St. Pete Beach wedding photographer: someone who could deliver outstanding work and capture the gorgeous details of their outdoor ceremony and reception.
“Caroline & Evan Photography was recommended to us, and they were outstanding to work with! There is a lot of pressure on photographers to capture a couple’s wedding day! They delivered for sure for us!” the bride gushed.

Opting for a cap-sleeve gown with ornate lace embroidery and a taupe underlay, the bride kept an open mind when searching for her wedding dress. Deciding to purchase an off-the-rack gown from Truly Forever Bridal, Jill was impressed with the selection and variety of dresses that the store had to offer.
“I definitely recommend that brides try on dresses and never order online! It’s also important to try on different styles! Some can surprise you once you slip in them,” the bride explained. “Truly Forever Bridal were pleasant and helpful. I liked that they sell their dresses from off-the-rack, and they had a wide selection. The woman there that does alterations worked magic on the alterations on my dress!”

Looking back on their wedding day, the couple opted for a “first look,” which became one of their most memorable moments.
“We had the most gorgeous weather on our wedding day! We were so blessed! Doing a “first look” moment offered quite a flood of emotions (in a good way). It all becomes kind of surreal,” the bride reminisced.
What did you look for in a wedding dress boutique?
I was fairly open minded about this. I definitely recommend that brides try on dresses and never order online! It’s also important to try on different styles! Some can surprise you once you slip in them!

The Proposal:
We went to brunch at Oystercatchers for my birthday. We always walk around by the Bay afterwards. I wasn’t expecting this at all, but I had sat down in an Adirondack chair on a pier on the hotel property, and Drew was behind me. I thought nothing of it. He was setting up his phone to record a video. He asked if we could leave, I got up (wondering why he was in such a hurry), and he got down on his knee. He was wise though, and tied the ring to his belt loop with clear fishing tackle to avoid the ring getting knocked into Tampa Bay out of excitement!
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
I was more opinionated about this than my groom, but I mostly looked at their portfolio of work.

How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
We wanted a nautical/beach vibe. The girls wore navy dresses, and I tried to put a modern twist to it by having bright pink and tangerine as accent colors. We loved the vibe of our unique venue and wanted some bohemian elements also.
What were your colors?
I wanted the ladies to be able to wear their dresses again so I wanted to select something classic. I asked for their input as well. I also wanted the flowers to be bright and add color to the day! My bouquet was incredible and we received so many compliments on the flowers.
How did you incorporate you and your spouse’s personalities into the wedding?
Drew loves the color orange! I had this represented in the flowers for him. He is from Tennessee and loves UT football. I also got him UT cuff links for a wedding gift. Our specialty drink was margaritas, and I love those!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Hiring a videographer was an outstanding decision, as was hiring a wedding coordinator for the day of the wedding!
