Maggie and Jason
“We envisioned a timeless wedding. We both knew the look we wanted that represented us together. We chose black, gold and white because those colors are simple and timeless.” -The Bride
Maggie and Jason’s destination waterfront Sarasota wedding was an elegant affair filled with classic white flora and greenery, chic table settings accented with gold details, and an al fresco reception overlooking the waves of the gulf.
“We envisioned a timeless wedding. We both knew the look we wanted that represented us together. We chose black, gold and white because those colors are simple and timeless,” the bride shared. “We chose Sarasota because it was our first ever vacation together, where we officially became girlfriend and boyfriend, and where Jason said, ‘I love you.’”
With photography of the utmost importance, the Michigan couple sought to capture their day in a way that could forever preserve the emotions and memories so they could relive their wedding day experience again and again through film. After meeting the owner of Amber Yonker Photography and viewing her impressive portfolio, the pair immediately felt a connection and knew Amber would be the perfect choice.
“The most important aspect of the wedding was to ensure we caught our special moments in the most natural way possible and try to capture the vibe and energy through pictures. We are very big on positive energy; every pose and smile were as big and genuine as our personalities,” Maggie beamed. “The things we looked for in a photographer were personality, photography style, and someone who understood us. I enjoyed Amber’s work and knew she would be a great fit for our wedding. She’s, in one simple word, amazing! Her energetic personality helped with everyone who was involved in photos. She’s professional and took charge when needed, and our photos came out absolutely perfect.”
Wanting to relive every moment of their 70-guest April wedding, Maggie and Jason chose to preserve their celebration with stunning cinematic detail. Iyrus Weddings documented the entire day, from nervous giggles to touching speeches, with a beautiful highlight reel that left the couple feeling like movie stars.
“We wanted a weddding videographer to capture the moments we don’t get to see and to really enjoy the day as we are. Iyrus Weddings was a preferred vendor referral that I’m very happy we chose,” Maggie raved. “They were amazing and captured everything we needed that day.”
While the wedding itself was magical, it was the heartfelt moments with loved ones that left the couple with a deep appreciation for time and irreplaceable memories.
“My special moment was walking down the aisle and seeing everyone from afar and the moment I reached for my grandpa and my step dad to escort me. I want to cherish that moment forever since time is limited on this earth,” the bride reminisced. “I could probably speak for Jason’s favorite moment, which was having his mom be a part of our wedding. She was battling cancer and going through chemo during those months but said she wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

The Proposal:
We just got home from a two week Mexico trip, and it’s not unusual for Jason to plan a date night a week later. We went out to dinner at a nice steak house, and as we were leaving he wanted to go back to the house to let our dog out before going to meet friends. As I walked in the house, a house I had sold him as his Realtor when we started dating, I heard music and thought it was Alexa. Once I turned the corner, the whole house was covered in red rose petals with tea light candles throughout the house, a hundred red and white balloons, and our large kitchen island had pictures in frames from every month until that moment. After I took it all in, I noticed he had a live guitarist playing in our kitchen. It was a very thoughtful and planned out proposal. Round of applause to Jason!

Your day is going to be the perfect day even with slight complications because it is natural. Enjoy every minute breathe, relax , and take it all in.
Where did you host your bachelorette party?
My girlfriends rented a cabin in Traverse City, Michigan, during the winter season. Since we were doing a tropical wedding we wanted to do something different and more local towards our home. It was a perfect weekend with snowboarding, winery tours, and hottub relaxing back at the cabin. #lasttoastontheslopes
