Elanna and Jared

The Vinoy

“I envisioned a whimsical, romantic garden vibe that felt bright and colorful while still being intimate and intentional. We’re both extroverts who love celebrating anything and everything, and we wanted our wedding to show the joy, energy, and love we not only have for each other but for our family and friends. We wanted something that felt authentic to us and different from many traditionally neutral, classic weddings.

Our colors were focused around purples, pinks, and greens. We even asked our planners to stay away from white because we really wanted the colors to shine. Purple has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember, and the pinks and greens felt like they married well with the venue. We incorporated gold accents as a nod to my Indian ancestry. We wanted our guests to walk in and immediately feel like they had stepped into something unforgettable. The vibrant palette paired with whimsical, garden-inspired florals created something that felt both romantic and striking.” -The Bride

FEATURING

Elanna and Jared’s vibrant downtown St. Petersburg wedding was a bold, garden-inspired springtime celebration bursting with shades of purples, pinks, and greens. The Pinellas Park couple, who met and fell in love while attending law school in Gulfport, exchanged handwritten vows under a chuppah in an outdoor tea garden surrounded by 130 treasured guests. They later danced the night away with an espresso martini power hour, live musicians, and a DJ in a historic Florida resort ballroom.

“We weren’t afraid to lean into color and create something that felt bold and completely true to us,” the bride shared. “While a lot of weddings we have attended embraced a more timeless, neutral aesthetic, we wanted our guests to walk in and immediately feel like they had stepped into something unforgettable. The vibrant palette of purples, pinks, and greens paired with whimsical, garden-inspired florals created something that felt both romantic and striking. More than anything, we wanted our wedding to leave our guests with a feeling—to not only love the look and the energy, but most importantly, feel the love and emotion behind the entire day. The fact that our friends and family still talk about it makes us feel like we did exactly that.”

Researching Wedding Vendors

“We mostly used Marry Me Tampa Bay in the beginning of our wedding planning process to see different venues in the area and for inspiration on how different weddings looked in different spaces. I found my planner through Marry Me Tampa Bay and Instagram.

Our families had already narrowed down that we definitely wanted the wedding to be held at The Vinoy, but we were having trouble viewing full wedding galleries in The Vinoy ballrooms until we came across Marry Me Tampa Bay. When we looked through the posts for weddings done at The Vinoy, it was clear to us that Parties A’ La Carte was who we wanted to have as our planner.”

The Proposal

“Jared proposed over Mother’s Day weekend in a huge sunflower field. To keep it a surprise, he told me we were stopping there to pick up flowers and fresh fruit to bring to his mom and nana since we were heading to South Florida to see them that day. Once we got to the sunflower field, he walked right past the sunflower maze, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. The moment I said yes, both of our parents came out from hiding—it turned out we were never actually going to see his mom because she had been there the whole time! We spent the rest of the day soaking in all the excitement with our families. It felt special because him proposing in a field of flowers just shows how well he knows me.”

The Bach Party and Honeymoon

“I went to Austin, TX, for my bachelorette party. I chose Austin because I went there once before for a quick trip and fell in love with the area. It has an incredible live music scene, great food, tons of walkable areas with shopping, and fun bars and nightlife. It really hit the mark as far as a bachelorette destination goes.

We haven’t taken our honeymoon yet, but plan to for our first wedding anniversary. We are heading to London, the Cotswolds, Paris, and ending in the French Alps and Switzerland! We chose these locations because we wanted a good mix of sightseeing, good food, and the chance to be outdoors for adventure but also relax and unwind.”

The Most Memorable Moments

“Jared and I exchanged cards and small gifts first thing in the morning, before everyone got to our suite to start hair and makeup. Part of my wedding gift to Jared was a small locket with photos of him and his two grandpas who have since passed on and couldn’t physically be with us for the day. It caught him by surprise, and we both sobbed when I gave it to him. It meant a lot to him knowing that, in a sense, they still walked down the aisle with him.

Reciting our vows to each other and looking out to see so many guests with tissues or wiping their eyes touched us—it meant everyone could feel the love in that moment. Another memorable moment was Jared breaking the glass after we were pronounced husband and wife under the chuppah to honor his Jewish traditions, with butterflies released at that moment as well. We felt like we were on cloud nine.

And being on the dance floor all night long with all of our friends and family— even Swag Surfin’ with a full dance floor—was something we will never forget.”

From The Florist

“Designing Elanna and Jared’s wedding was a deeply meaningful experience, shaped by their desire to create an immersive garden celebration. The jewel-toned palette provided a rich, expressive foundation for romantic blooms in shades of lavender, purple, deep pink, and green. Amaranthus, hydrangea, roses, spray roses, stock, allium, lisianthus, larkspur, bells of Ireland, sweet peas, garden roses, clematis, tulips, and ranunculus added depth, movement, and a sense of flourishing abundance that echoed the love of gardening their mothers shared.

It is always a florist’s dream to design for a couple who truly prioritize flowers, and seeing their expressions in the photos was profoundly rewarding because you could feel how much the florals meant to them. The entire experience felt thoughtful and seamless, and it was a privilege to bring their vision to life with intention, artistry, and heart. And as always, working with an incredible team made this wedding joyful and unforgettable.”

The Flowers

Bruce Wayne Florals

“Our floral inspiration really stemmed from our love of flowers. Growing up, both of our moms were, and still are, huge gardeners. I was always surrounded by flowers, and I just love how much beauty and personality they can bring to a space. I was drawn to vibrant purples, pinks, and lush greens because I wanted the design to feel colorful and full of life, and I knew I had to incorporate purple orchids since they’ve always been my favorite flower. When it all came together, it brought the whimsical, romantic, garden we had envisioned to life in every space, from the ceremony in the Tea Garden to inside the Grand Ballroom.

We chose Bruce Wayne Florals because, from the beginning, we felt like they truly understood the vision we were trying to create. We changed our minds more than once, including after our floral mock-up, which was incredibly nerve-wracking for me, but they were flexible and never made me feel like my ideas were too crazy. I especially want to shout out John Elice, who took the ideas I had in my head, elevated them, and created something that completely exceeded my expectations. Even now, our friends and family still talk about how stunning the florals were. I will probably be dreaming about my bridal bouquet and all of the arrangements forever.”

The Experience

“The guest experience was probably the most important thing to us. We wanted all of our guests to feel like the day went seamlessly and that they had an enjoyable time, especially since a majority of our guests were from out of town. Late-night snacks, an espresso martini power hour, strolling tiramisu, a high-quality photo booth, and an amazing DJ + live music combo were just a few things we included to ensure our guests knew we wanted them to have fun and celebrate to the fullest.

We both love EDM music and knew we didn’t want a traditional slow song for our first dance, so we started with Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran and transitioned to a fun, upbeat dance to For Life by Kygo, Zak Abel, and Nile Rodgers. It really took our guests by surprise.

Jared and I weren’t afraid to choose what we wanted and go all in. Jared has always been a huge espresso lover and got me into it when we started dating, so we had a power hour of espresso martinis to make sure everyone had enough energy to keep the dance floor going all night long! We also love our maltipoo Nemo and had to incorporate him into the day—we worked with our planners and URBANcoast to design the cutest napkins of Nemo holding a cocktail that said ‘Cheers to Fur-Ever!’”

The Planning

Parties A’ La Carte

“From the beginning, we knew we wanted a planner who cared about the details but also wanted our wedding to feel like us. It was important to have someone who would be honest throughout the process, help keep us realistic with our budget, and make sure we always felt at ease and heard. We chose Parties A’ La Carte because, from our very first conversation, we knew they were the right fit. We immediately felt comfortable knowing they had worked at our venue before, which gave us a lot of confidence going into the planning process.

We changed our design direction more than a few times, but Jessica, Cara, and the entire PALC team never made us feel like we were asking for too much. They embraced every new idea while keeping us grounded and making sure every decision still fit our vision. They were always one step ahead, even with last-minute additions, and made the entire process feel so easy. By the end of it all, they felt more like friends than planners, and because of them, we were able to fully enjoy our wedding day and be present knowing everything was completely taken care of. Our wedding ended up being even more beautiful than we ever imagined, and we would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a planner.”

From The Planner

“It was such a joy to be part of Elanna and Jared’s wedding journey and to see their vision evolve into a celebration that felt so authentically them. From the beginning, our goal was to create an experience that balanced thoughtful design with ease—making space for every meaningful detail while ensuring they could stay present and truly enjoy the day. Their trust, creativity, and openness throughout the planning process made it especially rewarding for our entire Parties A’ La Carte team. We are so grateful to have been chosen to bring their celebration to life, and we will always cherish the opportunity to have worked with such a wonderful couple.”

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
We were truly happy with ALL of our vendors. Our planners at Parties A’ La Carte (Jessica and Cara) truly helped guide us while also keeping us sane through the wedding planning process. Bruce Wayne Florals created a magical, romantic garden feel through florals that felt so unique and different—our florals were unreal.

Our photographer, Photography by Avery, has such an eye for detail that she caught all of the little moments and emotions, so when we look at our photographs, we feel the joy of the day all over again. Curate Entertainment provided us with beautiful live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour and an amazing DJ and saxophone player who kept all of our guests and us on the dance floor until the very end. And last but not least, our videographer, Everfield Creative, whom we booked two days before the wedding, created a video that didn’t just capture our wedding day, but the story of us.

What advice would you give to other St. Pete couples?
Get a planner! I am a very type-A person, and I don’t think I could have pulled this off on my own without our amazing planners. They should be the first vendor hired!

Remember to enjoy the process, even when it may feel stressful, because it really will be worth it in the end. I never understood when people would say their wedding was the best day of their life, but I can definitely say I get it now! Enjoy it and be present with your wife or husband-to-be and all of your loved ones, because the day goes by so quickly.
