Michele and John’s elegant daytime Sarasota wedding featured a soft, romantic color palette of mint green and rose quartz.
“Early in the planning process, we fell in love with the idea of having a brunch wedding. After choosing the venue and the time of day, our theme really just fell into place,” Michele shared. “Our venue was a beautiful, historic mansion built in 1916 with gardens and soft pastels. We wanted to highlight the beauty of the mansion and add in a few soft, romantic touches.”
The St. Pete couple incorporated their personality by having their favorite lawn games available for guests to enjoy. A guest even made a custom corn hole board for the groom that the couple happily enjoyed on their big day.
Searching for a Sarasota wedding photographer who offered a style compatible to the bride’s taste and comfort level, Michele hired Kristen Marie Photography.
“When I met with Kristen for the first time, she spent a lot of time going into details about photography and showing me things to look for in a photographer that I would not have known on my own. I knew after spending some time with her that she would do a fantastic job,” the bride explained. “I could ramble for hours about how wonderful Kristen was. I hope to work with her again in the future.”

Looking back, the bride shared that her most cherished memory from her wedding day happened when things didn’t go exactly as planned during the ceremony.
“Our most memorable moment was when John jumped the gun; he kissed me in the middle of our vows!” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
John and I met at Caddy’s on the Beach in St. Petersburg, FL. About a year later, I walked into our home and found an envelope leading me on a scavenger hunt across St. Petersburg! The hunt eventually led me back to Caddy’s, and then to the Don CeSar. This location was special because my parents got engaged there years ago. When I walked onto the beach, John was waiting for me on one knee on a bed of rose petals with champagne to celebrate.
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
Early in the planning process, we fell in love with the idea of having a brunch wedding. After choosing the venue and the time of day, our theme really just fell into place. Our venue was a beautiful, historic mansion built in 1916 with gardens and soft pastels. We wanted to highlight the beauty of the mansion and add in a few soft, romantic touches.
What were your colors?
Soft mint green and rose quartz. We incorporated soft touches throughout our wedding, without focusing too much on any specific color. Luckily, it all came together!
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
I started by looking through wedding photographers in the area to find a general style that I liked, and I knew that I wanted a wedding photographer who I felt comfortable with. I met with several.

What advice would you give to other Sarasota couples?
Think outside of the box. Tampa Bay/Sarasota has so many wonderful options for weddings! We have state parks, breweries, ballrooms, and beaches. Each can offer something unique. It seems overwhelming when you first start looking, take a deep breath, remember that at the end of the day it is about marrying the person you love, and enjoy it.
