Waterfront Tampa Garden Wedding | Davis Islands Garden Club Wedding
Ashley and Jason’s romantic, rustic chic outdoor Tampa garden wedding featured a sophisticated color palette of blush, ivory and merlot with a touch of navy and gold.
“I wanted everything to be light to play up the beauty of the outdoors,” the bride explained. “I had inspiration from blog posts and Pinterest, where I got it in my head that I absolutely had to have the guys in navy blue and the girls in ivory. The merlot was our florist’s recommendation, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful with our dresses among the green grass and blue sky and water.”
The Tampa bride thought of every coordinating detail for her outdoor garden wedding reception. From the beautiful white farm table to the vintage whitewashed chairs and down to the chargers from Tampa Bay wedding rental and decor company A Chair Affair.
“A Chair Affair provided us with our chargers. Much of my inspiration for the wedding came from my love of modern, chic rustic decor, but I also wanted it to feel romantic and dreamy. The chargers were really the finishing touch on our tables, which added to that chic, romantic feel.”
Knowing that photography would play an important part in their special day, the couple hired Tampa Bay wedding photographer Kera Photography.
“I really wanted someone who could capture the beauty of our venue, while also being affordable and easy to work with.” Ashley explained. “Kera of Kera Photography‘s natural light photography and personality were awesome! She is the sweetest and so talented. Her work was amazing! We loved the end result.”

Looking back, the bride’s most memorable moment was locking eyes with her groom for the first time on her big day.
“The whole day went by so incredibly fast, so I tried to take in every moment I could. The whole event itself was definitely memorable, but one thing I will always remember is walking down the aisle and seeing Jason for the first time. He was tearing up and looked so incredibly handsome!” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
Jason proposed while we vacationed in New York City for my 30th birthday. The morning he asked me to marry him we were walking around Central Park and came upon the lake where you could rent rowboats. We hopped on one and after a while (in more a secluded area), Jason popped the question! He had a photographer snap the whole thing from the bank of the lake. It was definitely memorable!
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?

How would you describe your theme?
At first, I was going for a rustic, chic look. I think it morphed a little bit into a romantic theme as we went through the process, which turned out amazing. I love uncontrived bouquets, eucalyptus, raw/whitewashed wood, etc., so that played a big part in the decision making process.
What were your colors?
Blush pink, ivory and merlot, with hints of navy and gold. I wanted everything to be light to play up the beauty of the outdoors. I had inspiration from blog posts and Pinterest, where I got it in my head that I absolutely had to have the guys in navy blue and the girls in ivory. The merlot was our florist’s recommendation, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful with our dresses among the green grass and blue sky and water.
What did you look for in a wedding rental company?
Much of my inspiration came from my love of modern-chic rustic decor, but I also wanted it to feel romantic and dreamy. A Chair Affair provided us with chargers, and they really the finishing touch on our tables, which added to that chic, romantic feel. The company was very responsive, easy to work with and the chargers looked great!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Hire a wedding planner! It was the best decision we made. I can’t imagine what we would have done without ours. Wedding planning can be stressful, especially when you work full-time. You want to be able to enjoy the process, so the extra money it takes for a planner is more than worth it.
