Wendy and Glen
Saxon Manor
“We were getting married in February, so we wanted a slightly darker, more winter theme. We loved the rich colors of purples and reds, and it was stunning. Our wedding colors were my favorite, purple, and Wendy’s favorite, red. They were incorporated by the florist and looked stunning with the décor we chose.” -The Groom
Wendy and Glen’s romantic Brooksville wedding was an intimate February celebration built around a rich, winter-inspired palette and a garden setting. With 72 guests present, the ceremony felt deeply personal, framed by layered greenery and abundant florals in deep purples and reds that surrounded the couple and lined the ceremony space. Subtle nods to the couple’s English and Nicaraguan heritage were woven throughout the day, most notably through thoughtfully chosen music that reflected both backgrounds.

The Details
“We incorporated our personalities into the wedding through our heritage. I am from England, and my bride is from Nicaragua, so we had a lot to share about our heritage. Our music selections were vastly varied, but all fit well. We wanted old school chic, and that is exactly what we got.
Our wedding was unique because of the color palettes, the bridesmaids’ colors and styles, and a vast array of hand-picked music. Although it was a formal event, it still felt relaxed.”

The Proposal
“I proposed to Wendy at the Mexican Pavilion in Epcot at Disney during an intimate meal at the restaurant, where you feel like you are outside, with a volcano as a backdrop beneath the Mexican starry night sky.”

Most Memorable Moment
“The most memorable moment of our wedding was the ceremony. The officiant was outstanding and almost knew what we wanted and how we wanted the ceremony to go without us uttering a word. They were super nice, helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. Even with a large group of friends present, the officiant made the ceremony feel extremely intimate.”

The Venue
“We live in Winter Haven. We chose this venue for a few reasons. Our first venue was destroyed by Hurricane Milton, so we had to scramble to find a new one. My parents live in Brooksville, and we are so glad we found Saxon Manor. Best decision ever. Mother Nature helped us find it.
We wanted a venue that was classy and upscale with lots of options. We mainly wanted an all-inclusive venue, and we found the perfect place in Saxon Manor. It is a beautiful location that is very flexible, extremely helpful, and filled with super nice people. The Garden Room is truly awe-inspiring and hits you with its beauty the moment you walk in the door.
The most important elements were making sure our guests were comfortable, and the garden room’s intimacy was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a smaller wedding that felt as large as life. The getting-ready spaces were super important and were amazing, as was the ceremony area, another excellent location that was the stuff of dreams.”

The Bach Party and Honeymoon
“The bachelorette party was simple and held locally in Winter Haven, with just the bride’s closest family and friends.
For our honeymoon, we chose a seven-day cruise to Mexico. We love cruising, and it was nice to have such awesome one-on-one time and to wind down after 18 months of planning without breaking the bank.”

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
The food and cake were both outstanding and more than we could have asked for, but the florist truly went above and beyond. I am pretty sure we were given far more in the floral department than we even asked for, and every piece was incredible.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Book Saxon immediately. They have a great selection of locations within the Saxon premises and are incredibly helpful. It is an absolutely beautiful place.
