Elsy and Cam
“Our wedding theme was an elevated garden-style party, which we thought would be perfect for springtime in Florida. The resort setting also lent well to the organic vibe of the theme, and we chose our colors to correlate with spring.” -The Bride
Elsy and Cam’s elevated Sarasota wedding began with an outdoor sun-filled marina-side ceremony, where boats lined the water just beyond the aisle, and the open sky framed their vows. Afterwards, 160 guests gathered on the lawn for a garden-style reception beneath a sailcloth tent, where greenery-lined baskets and mirrored disco balls floated overhead, catching the afternoon light. Neutral linens, bentwood chairs, and low white floral arrangements created an effortless elegance that felt perfectly suited for a waterfront spring Florida celebration.
“We are both extremely family-oriented, and the most memorable moments were having Cameron’s sister and my brother marry us in front of the most important people in our lives, and seeing the reception space together for the first time. It was everything we dreamed of and more, and blew our expectations out of the water,” the bride reminisced.

The Proposal
“Cameron disguised our engagement weekend as my birthday trip, so I had no idea he was going to propose. He took me to Rosemary Beach, FL, for the weekend, and proposed on the beach before dinner.”

Researching Wedding Venues
“We used Marry Me Tampa Bay to narrow down wedding venues, and it helped us find The Resort at Longboat Key Club!”

The Venue
The Resort at Longboat Key Club
“We chose this area for our wedding so that guests could experience a tropical, relaxing weekend getaway with a luxurious vibe, as well as for its proximity to the Sarasota Airport. Things we looked for in a wedding venue were the beauty of both the ceremony and reception sites, a venue that could accommodate housing for our guests, a venue close to an airport, as most of our guests were traveling, and, of course, the cost.
We wanted to make the wedding a vacation for our guests, especially in such a beautiful destination, so we decided to host our rehearsal dinner on Friday and hold a welcome party on the resort’s pool deck that night. Our guests really loved the long celebration!
We specifically chose The Resort at Longboat Key Club because of Gwen Paseka, the Event Manager. Yes, the resort was amazing and checked all of the boxes we had in mind, but Gwen’s personality and dedication to her clients are unmatched!”

The Bach Party and Honeymoon

“My bachelorette party was hosted in 30A. I chose this location so I could have a relaxing weekend at a beach destination with my closest friends, while also enjoying some nightlife.
We will be honeymooning in Italy (Lake Como, Sicily, Ischia) and the South of France (Cannes). We chose these destinations because we’ve never been to Europe and want a coastal getaway with great food and wine.”

The Design
“Our wedding theme was an elevated garden-style party, which we thought would be perfect for springtime in Florida. The resort setting also lent well to the organic vibe of the theme, and we chose our colors to correlate with spring.”

The Experience
“The most important elements of our wedding were the music, food, and setting. We incorporated our personalities into the wedding mostly through the music we chose for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and dance floor. We are both extremely family-oriented, so we had our siblings marry us. We also had a choreographed first dance, which was really special.”

The DJ
Graingertainment
“When looking for a wedding DJ, we wanted someone who would bring the party to the dance floor, and he delivered!
We chose Graingertainment for their amazing reviews and the versatility of their DJ and service offerings. Their service was absolutely great, from the planning process up until after the wedding.”

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
All of our wedding vendors truly exceeded our expectations. They were expert communicators, always there when we had a random thought or question, and they brought our vision to life. We can’t thank our wedding planner, Swanky Soiree, and Bailey for making this the most magical day.
What advice would you give to other Sarasota couples?
Advice we would give to other Sarasota couples is to take your time with your engagement and enjoy it while you can! We loved planning our wedding, but also made an effort to enjoy the time we had, rather than rushing to get married.
