Purple St. Petersburg Ballroom Wedding | Vinoy Renaissance Wedding
Tiffany and Deryk’s downtown St. Petersburg ballroom wedding featured an elegant outdoor ceremony and romantic candlelight reception.
The Florida couple chose their downtown St. Pete hotel wedding venue because it provided multiple event spaces for their entire day.
“I chose the Vinoy Renaissance because I wanted a location with an outside wedding space, and then the reception close by.I also liked one of the backup options if the wedding was rained out (a large hallway with pillars and a bunch of tall windows).” the bride explained. “The venue is beautiful, so it quickly became our number one choice. On the wedding day our venue coordinator handled everything, and I honestly didn’t have to worry about a thing. We had a dedicated staff just for us to make sure we had everything we wanted all night.”

The bride and groom searched for a St. Petersburg wedding photographer who could capture every moment of their big day.
“I am really artsy myself, so when I was looking into photographers I wanted to find someone who didn’t just take pictures; I wanted someone who created art,” Tiffany shared. “I was really impressed with Limelight Photography’s quality of work. Anyone can see that their photographers are artists.”
To complete her wedding day look Tiffany hired St. Pete wedding makeup artist Michele Renee The Studio.
“I wanted to do a little heavier eye makeup than I normally do and get airbrushed foundation so that my skin looked flawless,” the bride explained. “I was impressed with Michele Renee The Studio’s prices and photos of their work. I went for a trial run, and it was amazing! Their service was awesome and everyone looked amazing! Everyone was really happy with their work.”

Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments occurred during the wedding ceremony.
“It rained the whole day besides the 45 minutes for our ceremony. It was a last-minute call for the wedding to take place outside, and I am so happy it did! Walking up to the aisle with my daddy, I became overwhelmed with emotion. I am his baby of five kids, and I am not usually emotional, but I teared up with him,” Tiffany reminisced.
What was your wedding day beauty inspiration?
I wanted to do a little heavier eye makeup than I normally do and get airbrushed foundation so that my skin looked “flawless.” For my hair I wanted the majority down, but since I sweat so much (and was having an outside wedding in May in Florida), I decided to go with a half up type look.
I was impressed with Michele Renee The Studio‘s prices and photos of their work. I went for a trial run, and it was amazing! Tiffany and two other assistants did hair and makeup for my bridal party, the mother of the groom, mother of the bride, junior bridesmaid and myself. Their service was awesome and everyone looked amazing! Everyone was really happy with their work.
The Proposal:
We were living in Gainesville while Deryk was finishing law school. He had one of my best friends surprise me with a scavenger hunt involving a limo trip to my parent’s home in Tampa (to pick up my mother), then to get our nails done where two of my sisters surprised us, to a beach bar for my brother to join the party and then the final clue led me to my parents’ beach condo in Indian Shores. Since it was raining, I was instructed to go upstairs. There were candles lit all over the condo as Deryk proposed on the balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
I wanted to be near my family home, so the Tampa Bay area was where I looked. I wanted a location with the option of an outside wedding ceremony, and then the reception close by. I also wanted a hotel, because I personally don’t like having to travel after a wedding reception to my resting place for the night.
Deryk and I had stayed with some friends at the Vinoy Renaissance on a prior occasion, and honestly it’s beautiful, so it quickly became our number one choice. I also liked one of the backup options if the wedding was rained out (a large hallway with pillars and a bunch of tall windows). On the wedding day our venue coordinator handled everything, and I honestly didn’t have to worry about a thing in that regard. We had a dedicated staff just for us to make sure we had everything we wanted all night.
What was your theme?
I wanted elegant, simple, and classy décor, nothing too over the top. For the food and alcohol I truly wanted it to feel like a fun party, and we went with station foods, which were amazing! My end game was for everyone to have a great time.
What were your colors?
Eggplant purple and medium-light grey with Tiffany teal as an accent color.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
I am really artsy myself, so when I was looking into photographers I wanted to find someone who didn’t just take pictures; I wanted someone who created art.
I was really impressed with the quality of their work. I think anyone who looks at Limelight Photography can see that their photographers are artists. Also, they keep your photos forever in the event that something happens to your copies/computer. Sarah McDonald was my photographer, and she was awesome.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Get a venue that offers coordinators; it saves so much hassle and stress. Invest in photography and videography, because that’s all you have for memories. Always plan on rain and make sure you are happy with alternative options. Delegate. I am a type-A personality and I like to do things myself; however, your bridesmaids are there to help you out and more importantly they want to.

Elegant White and Gold Ballroom Reception | The Deyvn Wedding
Lauren and Ben’s elegant Sarasota ballroom wedding featured a winter fairy tale theme with an ivory, gold and burgundy color palette.
The Sarasota couple selected their hometown as the location for their wedding day.
“We decided to choose this area because this is both of our hometown, and all of our friends and family did not have to travel far for our wedding” the bride explained.
Knowing that the reception design and detail was one of the most important elements of her big day, Lauren hired Sarasota wedding planner Jennifer Matteo Event Planning.
“I looked for a wedding planner who paid attention to details and was also up-to-date on wedding styles to give me good suggestions on my wedding details,” Lauren shared. “I hired Jennifer Matteo [of Jennifer Matteo Event Planning] because she was very social, kind and truthful. She was perfect on every detail of our wedding and she had great wedding recommendations.”

How would you describe your theme?
Winter fairy tale. We chose it because I wanted our wedding to be bright and classy, but also bring in the winter theme with winter colors for November.
What were your colors?
Ivory, gold, and burgundy. They are very elegant colors, and the burgundy made a huge pop of color to make our bridesmaids and groomsman stand out.
