Romantic 1920’s Inspired South Tampa Wedding | The Anderson House

Armature Works Bridal Show 2021 | Tampa Wedding Show

There’s something about the richness of jewel tones and the texture of velvet that can instantly transport us into a 1920’s era. Karen Cerboni, lead planner and owner of EventFull Weddings envisioned a styled shoot that embraced all the glam of Gatsby’s grandeur paired with a historic South Tampa wedding venue.

“The Anderson House was the inspiration for the shoot. I felt the house was the perfect location to showcase how a smaller intimate wedding can still be beautiful and include all the lavish details a larger wedding typically has,” Karen explained. “I like the fact there are a variety of locations on-site including the lawn with its fountain, the expansive front porch which we used for rolling cigars, a parlor setting for the groom and groomsmen to relax with a cocktail and cigar, and the interior rooms of the home.”

The Queen Anne style house sits idyllically on the brick-paved streets of South Tampa. EventFull Weddings complimented the historic home’s cozy and romantic setting with rich colors and luxurious textures.

“The theme for this shoot was inspired by the art nouveau period of the early ’20s. I chose it as soon as I walked into the venue for a tour. It’s consistent with the home’s history and just felt perfect,” Karen beamed. “The color palette was blush and lavender with a contrasting jewel-toned green. The pinks and lavenders lend themselves to the romantic feel I wanted and show along with the home’s beautiful dark wood moldings and green walls.”

To execute an art nouveau theme, the decor was carefully selected for the venue space. Curated details carefully selected by the wedding planner elevated a fresh take on the popular 1920’s style.

“I researched the art nouveau period and style and included the ginkgo leaf on the gold napkin rings. The ginkgo leaf was popular during that era symbolizes fertility and growth,” Karen explained. “I also included the peacock feather that’s very well known in the ’20s, but I used dyed white feathers rather than the natural color. They were used in the bride’s bouquet, groom’s boutonniere, and repeated in other floral arrangements. One of my favorite details is the floral ice cubes used at the bubbly bar and the champagne tower.”

The reception table featured elegant rentals that cohesively paired with the lush floral arrangements.

Kate Ryan Event Rentals provided us with all the tabletop décor, including chargers, dishes, linens, and flatware. I went with traditional gold-rimmed china and gold baroque flatware for a vintage feel,” Karen detailed. “Overall I just love how intimate and comfortable the venue is. I imagine a group of friends and family feeling very at home but yet in a very classy, elegant environment.”

Looking back on all the hard work the vendor team put in, it was the beauty of the floral arrangements that left the wedding planner awestruck.

“My favorite elements tend always to be the flowers, and this time was no different,” the wedding planner revealed. “The arrangements were exactly as I described, and I especially loved those arranged around the water fountain for the outdoor ceremony.”
