It’s not every day that Tampa Bay wedding professionals get to experience a wedding as a guest; normally they joke that they’ve only been to a hotel “through the service entrance.”
So that the area’s best wedding planners knew how amazing the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach is, the luxury hotel wedding venue hosted a VIP Wedding Experience, and we were lucky enough to score an invite.
“The Hyatt Wedding Experience was a unique event to showcase Hyatt Clearwater Beach as a premier wedding venue, as well as, our product, service, and quality,” Lindsey Sikes, Event Sales Specialist at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach explained. “We wanted our guests and local wedding planners, to experience a wedding at our venue and to share their experience with other vendors and their clients.”
The afternoon started off with hotel suite with a private, outdoor cabana along the rooftop pool. You could literally open your patio door and be basking in the sun with just one step! The on-site spa provided in-room chair massages (which I took advantage of twice!). Being on the same floor as the pool, we could sit in our cabana and have drinks delivered via the pool bar, so we didn’t have to leave our room to soak in the Clearwater Beach lifestyle.

When the @hyattregencyclearwater asks you to spend an afternoon experiencing what it’s like to be pampered bride with their rooftop pool, cabanas and 1-bedroom suite with in-house masseuse, you just say yes! Thank you so much for a relaxing day and incredible evening! #hyattweddingexperience
After an afternoon in the sun, we were pampered with hair and makeup by the on-site wedding hair and makeup team Michele Renee The Studio, who transformed one of the meeting rooms into a beauty studio complete with champagne, multiple hair and makeup stations and a lounge. It was such a fun and relaxing way to chat with the other guests, while getting the full glam experience.
The wedding experience kicked off with a sunset cocktail hour on the Sky Terrace rooftop of the Hyatt, which overlooks Clearwater Beach, has sweeping views of the city and the best sunset in town! This outdoor wedding space, 16 stories above the beach, also makes for a stunning ceremony backdrop. Guests were delighted with live musical stylings from Total Entertainment by Matt Winter (seriously, the guitar player was A-mazing!).
“The Sky Terrace features breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway, which makes this venue unique,” Lindsey explained. “Imagine a morning celebration with the rising sun, evening ceremony with the sunset as your backdrop, or dance under the stars with the love of your life.”
The recently renovated Belleair Room and outdoor terrace, which features floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sugar sands of Clearwater Beach and the Gulf of Mexico, were home to our reception dinner. This is one of the few ballrooms on the beach with a view and adjoining outdoor space. The reception room was complemented by vibrant uplighting, high coffered ceilings and soft hues of gray and blue.
