Angie and Phillip's waterfront Tampa wedding showcased their love for each other on a glamorous yacht, providing an amazing wedding day experience and a different view of their favorite city.
The bride and groom kicked off their downtown Tampa wedding by incorporating iconic locations into their guests' experiences.
“We stayed at the Floridan Palace Hotel. This historic Tampa landmark, which has been open since 1926, provided the elegant accommodation we were looking for. Next to our wedding venues is the Colombia Café, which hosted our rehearsal dinner. It is conveniently located within the Tampa Bay Museum, which gave a great opportunity for our out-of-town guests to learn about Tampa Bay and its beautiful history.”

The Tampa couple wanted their traditional wedding to be elegant, fun and memorable for many of their guests traveling near and far to be in attendance.
“Phillip is a free-spirited personality who loves nature and the water. I love glamour, sparkle, and anything shiny! We found the perfect way to fuse these contrasting themes was to have a glamorous and sparkling wedding on the water. We wanted a space that was intimate without having the feeling of being cramped in a small space. It was also important that the event was private, separating our family and guests from reality. We were looking for a venue that was original and that would stand out from your average wedding,” the bride shared. “Marry Me Tampa Bay was our resource when researching possible venues. We found the Yacht Starship on Marry Me Tampa Bay and loved it from our first meeting. They helped us through the whole process step by step, which was very important to us because the whole wedding planning process can be overwhelming, and we are both very busy.”

Turning to Marry Me Tampa Bay for assistance in selecting a bakery, the bride and groom wanted a cake that dazzled in color and taste.
“We had a hard time finding a bakery for our wedding cake until Marry Me Tampa Bay led us to Alessi’s Bakery. We wanted a cake that people would remember for its unique taste and texture,” Angie shared. “Alessi Bakery really impressed us at our sit down. The wedding cake baker sat with us and helped guide us through the huge variety of flavors they offered. They were much more personable than the other places we went to.”

Looking back on their wedding day, the couple had a chance coincidence of having their own private fireworks show on the night of their wedding.
“Our wedding coincided with the Gasparilla Children’s parade. This meant that we were treated to an elaborate firework display on the water. The two of us stood alone on the top deck of the yacht enraptured by the dazzling light show. Our guests on the first and second decks were enjoying the show from the windows inside. Looking out over the water we realized we were one of the only boats out aside from the one shooting the fireworks. It felt truly magical,” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
Phillip took me to the Orlando Eye (the fifth tallest Ferris wheel in the world) on December 23. Aboard our private capsule, accompanied by champagne, at 400 feet above the city of Orlando, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his one and only forever.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Your wedding day goes by so quickly! Make sure to take a moment, when nobody is paying attention, like in the middle of dinner, to sneak off to a corner with your new spouse. Look out over the crowd and see the people interacting with each other, laughing and enjoying themselves, and then realize that they are all here for you. Friends who have never met each other, family meeting the newest family members, and all of these new connections that are being made on this day were made possible because of the two of you.
