Kristy and Mark's Love Story:
Mark and I met in high school at the end of my freshman and his junior year, but it wasn't until the beginning of the next school year that he got the courage to ask me out. We have been together ever since!
Before he proposed, I had pretty much been expecting it to happen at any time…except for when it did!
He knew I would never expect him to be so cheesy and propose on Valentine's day, so it was the perfect day to do it. He took me to the Westin Hotel on Harbour Island, and as we were standing in front of the window taking in the beautiful view of the water and the city at night, he dropped down to one knee. He pulled out a beautiful diamond solitaire engagement ring and said the most perfect things.
I was so incredibly happy that I couldn't stop crying for the next half hour. Once I was able to stop crying, we went out for a nice romantic dinner, and he had told our parents he was going to propose that night so they met us after dinner to celebrate!
Pink, Purple & Gold Fairytale Wedding – Floridan Palace
Kristy and Mark planned a pink, purple and gold fairytale wedding in downtown Tampa.
“I had always dreamt of having a big, poofy, sparkling white princess wedding gown and the fairytale wedding to go with it,” the bride shared. “Mark is pretty easy going and was wonderful during the whole process of planning; he was my perfect prince charming.”
Every princess bride needs the perfect venue to marry in and Kristy found hers at the Floridan Palace.
“From the first time we went in the ballroom I knew it was the perfect place. It was so big it would engulf any of the other venues we saw,” the bride gushed. “The ballroom was spacious enough to have plenty of room between the tables, a big dance floor, room for a photo booth, coffee cart, two bars, dj booth and more with room to spare. The Floridan Palace was also the ideal location for our fairytale wedding because I could not imagine a better location to be taken away by a beautiful white horse and carriage for a romantic stroll along the streets of downtown Tampa.”

To oversee their wedding day, Kristy and Mark hired Tampa wedding planner Burkle Events.
“We wanted someone who could keep everything running smoothly without having myself or any of our parents or wedding party pulled away from the wedding,” the bride explained. “Natalie and Jennifer [of Burkle Events] were fabulous. They were organized, friendly, bubbly and ready to make us happy. We were all able to enjoy the big day without being bothered because we had every bit of confidence in the Burkle sisters, and everything turned out beyond awesome.”
Looking back, one of Kristy's most memorable moments came before she said her “I do's.”
“When the doors opened to the sanctuary and I started my walk down the aisle with my dad, it felt so surreal. Everything that day from beginning to end was so beautiful and perfect that I will never forget a second of it,” the bride reminisced.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
We had a wonderful experience from the beginning of the planning process through the very end of the wedding. I would definitely recommend all of our vendors and having been to other weddings since our own, I realize how much of a difference it makes to have truly talented and skilled professionals to make your day perfect.
